New thread ladies Grin

Just going to put DS to bed and then I'll be back with my list.

OP posts:
comtessa · 09/11/2010 17:30

PS would defo buy Ikea again. Just didn't like any of the bedframes this time round and it was a generous gift so didn't need to just go for budget option.

PlumBumMum · 09/11/2010 18:57

YEY for your bed Comtessa

Welcome Hicup and congrats on your PG

I am having a bad day today but though I would pop on to let you know after how many lists, I am going to go buy paint tomorrow for my bedroom and get it painted this week to cheer myself up

Will be back later

anonymousbird · 09/11/2010 20:07

Plum - sorry to hear you are having a bad day Sad. Hope tomorrow is better. Painting a room can be a real boon - change of colour?? What are you going for?

Comtessa - thanks for the mattress tips. I've always been a bit overwhelmed by the choices available (being unbelievably indecisive doesn't help Hmm), but your advice is great and "mattress" is now on my house list - I may even have a new one by the time we move back into Bird Manor in 6 months time.... Wink

I've ditched my "house moving" section of my list - it was about to exponentially explode and doesn't really belong in here, so will stick to the daily/housekeeping/kids type lists now.

The House moving/build lists now have a whole Notebook dedicated to them - at the end of the day, maybe I am showing my age, but I need good old fashioned pen and paper that I carry everywhere with me for some things, and that is one of them! If technology fails me (or I fail technology more likely) my trusty notebook will still be at my side..... Along with ^^ lovely post it notes, coloured pens, and all that yummy stuff. Mmmmmm

Ok, getting myself sorted for tomorrow here:

Evening Slatterns :)

Comtessa - hurrah for the bed, it looks lovely! Agree about pocket sprung. We bought a new bed while I was pg with DS, and went for a top of the range Sleepeeze one, it has 2000 pockets. A friend of the family was in the furniture trade and they always have Sleepeeze mattresses because they are so well made and last so well. I love ours, it is sooo comfy and I would highly recommend.

Plum :( Hope everything is ok?

I have been horrid today, all grumpy and shouting at DS :( Blush DH has been working at home so has also been in the firing line.
I hope it is just that I'm tired, because it feels horribly like the beginnings of depression did :( I am desperate not to be back where I was 18 months ago.

We have finally decided on what fireplace/fire/mantel etc to get though, so DH is going to ring up and order it in the morning. So that has cheered me up a bit :)

20 week scan tomorrow - eeek! I am v.v.nervous actually, which isn't helping my mood I don't think. Will report back asap tomorrow :)

Ahh Ali Its probably just a bad day, pregnancy with dcs to look after is more tiring than the first when you really just had yourself to worry about, will be thinking of you tomorrow

Comtessa forgot to say that bed is beautiful! I lurve it

Anon going for muddy puddle, I think, might change tomorrow,
have a horrible two tone blue strange paint effect going on at the minute, we haven't touched our room since moving here, so has never really felt nice and cosy or mine

Nothing major today just one of those days I parked the car and a sign from a shop blew over and gave the car a wee dent and a few scratches,
that was ok, the man said he would pay to fix it, then ater I picked dd2 up driving up the road a lorry driving in opposite direction,
a big gust of wind blew stones from his load on to my car, I thought the windscreen was just marked abit but when I got out at home the car was covered in chip marks, the washy for lighs was broke and I have a mirror thing at front corner that lets me see right right down front of car & side, one side of it was broke and chunk out of reg plate

So was just p'eed off and then annoyed as I don't like gettng anoyed at tings like that, so dh has now let shop keeper off with dent as he will have to erm... work at sorting rest of car

Hello all and welcome to hicUps Smile

Didn't get around to a list yesterday but I did get all my ironing done Grin. Also went to toddlers and the shop, and had to pick dd up at lunch because she was exhausted and in tears. And saw wc twice and then had a rude dream about him Blush

DS woke at 4.30 this morning. Not happy!

Bit of a non start to the day due to knackeredness and dd being off school. Might get going after lunch...

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/11/2010 11:14

JKS do you have low BP? I used to get realy dizzy because of it

comtessa · 10/11/2010 11:27

Justkeep I had spatone and it's fine if you put it in juice. Also vitamin C helps with the absorption of the iron, so it's ideal to add it to your morning glass of juice.

Lovely night's sleep, thanks all. My knees are ever so grateful for not having to hoist me up from the floor in the middle of the night.

In-laws arriving today - can't wait to see them as we haven't seen them since March (DH from USA).

Right, today's list:
Emails done
Washing up
Shopping list done
Swimming
Shopping
Make FIL birthday cake
Baking for Thanksgiving (DC1's due date) to put in freezer : pumpkin pie, cherry pie, apple pie
Nap

If time:
Sort out tax forms
Email GFS info to M
Sort baby clothes into age/size
Flute practise

anonymousbird · 10/11/2010 11:29

Ali - report back, hope all goes well!

JKS - not bad AT ALL. Relish those all too brief moments! You need some down/me time in your condition, you have a baby to grow!

Freaki - Wink re WC dream, it's all that mopping your brow business from last week moving on a step or two....

Have cleared out several "cupboards of doom" this morning - you know, the ones you never ever actually delve very far into - the bathroom cabinets, medicine cupboard, light bulbs and batteries drawer, you know the kind of thing. What a load of useless crap out of date stuff we have, oh my god! Anyway, our study (which has just been a dumping ground for nearly 5 years) calls me and I MUST get on with it, there is no excuse now.

Cheerio, see you later.

Dammit. Then he was playing pool in a pub near me last night so came over for an hour beforehand to keep me company- I'd showered and put on my tatty grannyish pjs (so alluring Hmm) and then could smell him on me all night from where we hugged hello/bye- think that's why I had the dreamBlush

Yay scan all fine! Grin Sonographer thinks we are having a girl which I am Shock about because I was convinced I was carrying another boy.
Anyway, we have got to go back in 2 weeks for another one so she can have another look at the heart. Nothing to worry about, she just couldn't get a very good look and thinks it will be better once the baby is a bit bigger - so we will get another look and hopefully a more firm 'girl/boy' decision! Grin Grin

Freak - Grin

Comtessa - glad the bed is comfy :)

JKS - my bp is low all the time and gets even lower when I'm pg. If I go up the stairs too fast I feel like I'm going to keel over, which wouldn't be ideal!
Yes Spatone does taste vile, even in juice, but not as vile as my omega3 pregnancy vits which keep repeating on me I must start taking it again though, I'm sure I must have low iron I am so tired all the time.
A word of warning about the Next mat clothes. Check what they are made of. I have had to send back several things because they are sooo acrylic and even washing doesn't get the chemical smell out of them. Yuck yuck yuck. Have a couple of cotton long top/t-shirt things which are v.nice though and wash well.

Anon - well done on the doom clearance. There are a few areas I want to tackle before this bump gets too much bigger.

Yay good news ali Grin

PlumBumMum · 10/11/2010 14:47

Quickly before school runs YEY YEY YEY for baby news Ali,

And Ali since you are the resident IKEA expert what do you think of Hemnes range, was thinking of it for bedroom

Have got all paint, bedroom curtains,a light fitting, and a duvet set (reduced) so hopefully new bedroom for weekend, YEY

The duvet set is nearly an exact match (colour wise) for curtains even though out of 2 different shops

We have calmed down about car, dh will be able to sort it, whenever he gets time,
