No housework done here today either, although I was in a decluttering mood and rediscovered all my old teenage/early twenties diaries in the process. Have decided to keep the only one I can read without cringeing (1986/87 - before I had really discovered boys; unfortunately it is not half as interesting either. Sample entry: "There can be nothing more boring than plants.") DD2 has already expressed an interest in reading them, so I must get them out of the house asap.
The DC were particularly difficult today - the girls were awful, whiny and not nice towards their little brother so DD1 was not allowed to go to the puppet theatre this afternoon and DD2 wasn't allowed to stay overnight with DS's friend as planned (I think the mother was secretly relieved, as she has DS and another friend to stay as well as her own three - all under 5; I honestly don't know how she does it).
Teasing I feel your pain, especially wrt wet beds - I had everything from the pillow to the duvet to wash this morning despite DS having a nappy on.
Bob
of your trip to the bookshop; we do have a couple of bookstores here, but they're just not the same as in the UK (the fact that they're full of books in German doesn't help!).
MrsD Sounds like the harvest festival went well - you must have been very proud of your DD. Hope your headache is better now; I'm sure your DS's cuddle must have helped.
SC Hope you're feeling better today. I'm worried that my lack of exercise and could-be-better diet are going to catch up with me before too long; the fact that the doctor could tell from my blood test that I wasn't getting enough exercise was a bit of a wake-up call. Not quite enough for me to have got round to doing anything about it yet, however...
MiniM Thanks for the biscuits.
Hope your DS is a bit more "in sorts" now, but like others have said it seems to be quite a normal stage for toddlers to go through when there's a new baby on the way.
swan Teachers certainly aren't afraid to use their red pens here; they are very big on handwriting, correct grammar and spelling etc. but don't seem to encourage much in the way of creativity - DD1 is in her third year of school and has done virtually nothing in the way of creative writing at all.
No need to feel guilty either - I can see now (and knew at the time, really) that I was completely overreacting. (Although I may be a tad upset if there's still nothing by Monday!) I've had an e-mail from one friend apologising for the fact that her card is going to be late and have just had two messages on FB (three counting yours yesterday Nettie - thank you
), so things are looking up.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend.
