Don’t want to say too much in case I put myself as the teacher who farted with their mic on. But just that really, I forgot to turn my mic off and let rip. I’m mortified.

Just make a joke out of it if any of your students poke fun and they'll soon forget about it

If anyone mentions it, just grin broadly and say "better an empty house than an angry tenant!"

Was it even obvious that's what it was? All kinds of odd sounds come through online and I think unless it's an astonishingly clear connection then an extra noise wouldn't really register.

I spent half an hour farting merrily on a Teams call. I was particularly constipated so had slugged a good amount of lactulose. I honestly thought you couldn't hear them. I had no idea that my headset was noise cancelling. It was only when we finished the call that I realised how loud they were. My only hope is that my colleagues thought there was no way anyone could be farting that much. It was non stop

Just to make it worse- this was the first time I’ve ‘met’ this class.

I had it happen the other way round. The dog was next to me and was growling and whining at the birds outside on the roof, off camera but on mic. Eventually I apologised for him and turned the laptop round to reveal him. No-one believed me.

But I have farted in an actual lesson full of Y9s, who thought it was the highlight of their school career.
