I wouldn’t think anything I don’t think. It’s a more old fashioned style but it’s not anything so out of the ordinary that I’d give it a second thought.

FlamingoFloss · 25/01/2026 00:10

Is there something wrong with it? I think depends if the rest of the bathroom matches. it’s not a modern sink but the older fashioned ones do have quite a charm about them ;)

ResusciAnnie · 25/01/2026 00:10

I would have zero thoughts. Standard sink.

viques · 25/01/2026 00:11

I would think I bet that is a bugger to clean!

TakeTheCuntingQuichePatricia · 25/01/2026 00:11

Why has it got 3 taps?

BrinkWomanship · 25/01/2026 00:12

I’d think it was old fashioned.

JanuaryJasmine · 25/01/2026 00:12

I don't especially like them myself, but if it went with the other things I wouldn't think anything of it. If everything else was really modern I'd find it a bit odd.

Oh I see. Don't think I've ever seen a basin like that!

ThrowingDi · 25/01/2026 00:17

I don’t think it looks worth £650 my assumption was budget range.

Dumdidums · 25/01/2026 00:20

its just ive seen something similar for about £100 so im just wondering if anyone would look at this and think oh that sink must have cost more than £500. I was originally looking at a Thomas Crapper one but i dont understand their website

@Dumdidums it's gorgeous and especially if you live in an old Victorian house.

HeddaGarbled · 25/01/2026 00:27

No. No one will think that. Because it’s weird to cost up bathroom sinks (unless you work for B&Q et al).

Rookie93 · 25/01/2026 00:31

Looks traditional and vaguely edwardian/ 1920's to me. Stayed in a castle once with a mahoosive bathroom where all the fittings were in a similar style, they looked completely at home and felt quite grand to use. Live in a 30's terrace which would probably originally have had something similar, but that style would no longer work in our space. Certainly do some price comparison if that's the style for you, as it does seem £££ for what it is, or maybe see whats available via salvage yards.

No, it’s a very outdated design. I’d assume it is pre-renovation, not post renovation

plumpunnet · 25/01/2026 00:35

It doesn’t look out of the ordinary, but not my taste , unless you had an Edwardian house it would look pretentious

Pryceosh1987 · 25/01/2026 01:01

I would think a historian council home.

Gentlydoesit2 · 25/01/2026 01:02

Old fashioned and ugly. Sorry

soupyspoon · 25/01/2026 01:06

We have similar. I dont expect people look at things in my bathroom and price them up.

soupyspoon · 25/01/2026 01:06

But I dont care whether they do or not.

TappyGilmore · 25/01/2026 01:11

Does anyone seriously go in someone else’s bathroom and give any thought to what the sink might have cost? The only time I can imagine anyone thinking about it would be if they are renovating their own house and thought they may be interested in a similar style, but I’d think that would be unusual.

3catsandcounting · 25/01/2026 01:13

Beautiful. It’s a design that’s stood the test of time and still appearing in almost every bathroom showroom (amongst all the ugly modern square ones that’ll date far sooner)

Where do you live & how old are you?

all bathroom sinks were like this when I was growing up in the uk, but I'm 55 now.

The only time I’d wonder about the cost of a sink would be if it was a very unique design.
This is just a very standard, if a bit more old fashioned, sink.
