Help me decide on sofa swatches

See image - I’m wanting the navy for one sofa, then I’m thinking a cream/beige for the other sofa. I’ve also thrown in a random olive swatch too.
Any opinions? Will it work or not? DP would rather have matching and not keen on beige/cream but really it’s my decision

Honestly the navy could work with any of those, I prefer the olive but I like colours not endless beiges and greys. 😂 BUT what colour is the room? Walls, floor, rugs, curtains etc? Or are you choosing these first then working the rest out?

Thanks for your quick reply! Well that’s the thing, the walls are going to be sage green with one wall in this wallpaper:

The floor is oak hardwood (more orangey). Haven’t chosen curtains yet.
I don’t like endless beige either but thought it’d be a little more interesting with two mismatched sofas!

I'm with your husband I'm afraid, I think matching sofas generally look better in matching colours. I think a chair in a contrasting colour looks good. But that's just my opinion so ignore it you want!
If you do for 2 colours I think top row no 3 and middle row no 3 and no 4 go best.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 13/09/2024 13:47

I like the olive. In fact my favourites are immediately above and below the navy swatch.

That wallpaper is 😍!
But opens up SUCH possibilities! One navy sofa, one pink? Or one navy one emerald? Or...one pink one patterned with complimentary leaf design?
Or would any of that be too wild? 😆

MayFairSquare · 13/09/2024 13:53

I have chosen unmatching sofas for years but I'm getting matching next time so it must be the fashion or I wouldn't have thought of doing it. Grin

Yes! Don't do that wallpaper a disservice with beige!

heldinadream · 13/09/2024 13:55

Are you sure about that paint with the wallpaper?
I'm not feeling it.
Obviously you might be convinced and that's fine, I'm just chucking in some dissent.

MissyB1 · 13/09/2024 13:58

Can I be cheeky and ask for a link to the sofas? I’m currently sofa hunting.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 13/09/2024 13:58

From the wallpaper photo, it would look lovely with navy walls and pink sofas?

The two different sofas - already decided on the navy one of course but the Wilson one could change colour!

I take the point about the sage paint and the wallpaper - my heart is set on it though! I love navy but as the wallpaper is predominately navy I think it’d make the room too dark.

Also appreciate the suggestions about not going with beige - let me have a further look at colours!

Go for fuschia pink! My husband wouldn't agree with that sadly !

forevernumb · 13/09/2024 14:32

I'm going to be honest and say I don't like the fact that the two sofas have different feet/legs.

heldinadream · 13/09/2024 14:36

@cakecakecake98 on the point of the paint, it's just the fact (for me) that the greens in the fabulous and definitely not to be changed wallpaper are a bit more bluey. I agree navy walls and then the room's dark, so if you are not going for dark winter snug that's no good. Doing this on my phone so bit tricky with comparisons but what about a green more like this instead of the sage?

@cakecakecake98

Definitely not beige.

I would go for a pink tone or even a mustard / burnt orange / gold colour.

Spomb · 13/09/2024 15:07

I don’t think the navy goes with the wallpaper. It’s the wrong tone of blue.

So they have teal blue or a brighter green?

MayFairSquare · 13/09/2024 15:08

I agree, I think it's because one has legs and the other is on the floor.

I think this is a great point - I couldn’t actually decide between these two shades but now I look again I can see what you mean.

Regarding the sofas this is all becoming a minefield.. I’m rather thinking I’ll just go for the two navy sofas and get a chair in another colour!!!

OP posts:
MissyB1 · 13/09/2024 16:05

Love both sofas, but I agree you need two of the same. Two navy would be lovely.

needhelpwiththisplease · 13/09/2024 17:03

Two navy sofas and either a pink or mustard yellow chair?!?!

MouseMinge · 13/09/2024 21:22

If you're going for two different colour sofas I'd be going with the olive and if you're worried about the olive paint then put the olive sofa against/close to the wallpaper wall because it will contrast nicely with it.

crockofshite · 13/09/2024 22:18

Burnt orange, raspberry pink, cherry red are the sort of colours I'd go for with sage walls
