Double bed advice for tall people

I currently have a wooden double bed which is fine just for me, I’m pretty short but occasionally my feet end up on the bars at the bottom. I have just started seeing lovely man who is 6ft3 and would eventually like him to stay over but I’m worried he won’t fit in my bed. I can’t really fit anything bigger than a double in my bedroom. My bed also sits under a window so I don’t really want a bed with a tall headboard. So am I better off with a divan bed? I need some kind of storage as my room is so small so possibly a lift up divan bed or one with drawers. Can anyone recommend a bed that’s not hugely expensive but sturdy? Has anyone got a bed with bars at the bottom and their tall dh/dp manages ok? 😬

My husband is 6'5". He can't sleep in a bed with a footboard or bars but he's fine in our double bed.

Thank you. I think I’m just going to get a better double (without bars). I don’t plan on having him stay often as I like my own space 🤣

My DP and I are currently sleeping in a double bed at my parents house whilst our house sale goes through. We have a wonderful super king size bed in storage that we are missing so much.

It's not about the length for us but the ability to turn over and stretch out without disturbing the other person. We are both 5' 10".

We have been here for 2 weeks now and our sleep has been awful. We are counting the days until we move.
