Long time IKEA bed buyer, but we have decided to get rid of our latest one and it’s scabby old mattress and want to invest in a lovely bed. But where do we look?

Benson for beds?
Argos
Dreams
John Lewis

TheDogsMother · 25/02/2024 22:37

We went to John Lewis for the bed frame and mattress. Both fabulous.

AmethystMoonShine · 25/02/2024 22:38

Feather and Black

DeedlessIndeed · 25/02/2024 22:38

We got our most recent beds from Feather and Black and then John Lewis for the spare room.

I liked some from Sweetpea and Willow and And So To Bed, but they were too pricey.

Warren Evans for wooden beds 🥰 I love mine! Beautiful quality

VanGoghsDog · 25/02/2024 22:39

Mine is from Wayfair.

SignoraVolpe · 26/02/2024 08:45

I bought a beautiful bed frame from Furniture 123.
Really good customer service too.

Got a mattress from John Lewis.

AuntieMarys · 26/02/2024 08:46

Get Laid beds

shearwater2 · 26/02/2024 08:47

Still Ikea, an independent bed shop or a department store. Not online as I need to try it out.

HomeostaticSetPoint · 26/02/2024 08:54

Thanks all!

Last two were from Time 4 Sleep and Get Laid, both great beds although the Get Laid frame is fractionally too small for our simba mattress

nc42day · 26/02/2024 08:58

I always default to John Lewis for beds

Bramshott · 26/02/2024 09:00

Cotswold Company

Kitkat1523 · 26/02/2024 09:01

Got mine from Argos….habitat upholstered frame and silent night mattress….. Argos often have 20% off sales….I waited for that

willsandnoodle · 26/02/2024 09:38

We recently bought a temper bed and mattress from dreams. Would recommend dreams, the assistant was top notch. Wouldn't recommend the temper mattress, it's overrated in my opinion, not worth the money.

I was in ikea yesterday, and tried a mattress, and it was glorious. Was less than £400 too! Why don't you want another Ikea one?

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 26/02/2024 09:42

2 of the beds in our house are from Dreams, and one from Argos.

The Dreams beds are fab - one ottoman and one solid wood. The Argos bed is utter junk. It's about 3 years old and falling apart.

Bundeena · 26/02/2024 09:48

Our frame is from Oak furniture Land, love it. Mattress from IKEA. Previously have had a silent night wooden frame and mattress and they were both great too.

Octavia64 · 26/02/2024 09:53

Tempur mattresses are amazing. Improved my sleep so much.

Bed frames I'm kind of meh on: I think the mattress is what really makes the difference.

Beds in my house are from :

Bensons (really fucked up the delivery and expensive for what it it)
IKEA
John Lewis (good quality)
and the one in the spare bedroom is second hand.

MadamVastra · 26/02/2024 10:02

I went to John Lewis then I looked online and found my mattress cheaper with two pillows as well.

SausageAndEggSandwich · 26/02/2024 10:26

Dreams, or Furniture village

Both ottoman beds, very sturdy. The FV one cheaper as it was for the spare room. The Dreams one we've had for 5 years and still looks brand new. No divots or sagging in the mattress at all.

bilbodog · 26/02/2024 11:00

Loaf.

SoupDragon · 26/02/2024 11:05

Mine came from Loaf. The delivery men assembled it for me and took away all the rubbish.

SquashPenguin · 26/02/2024 11:13

We’ve just had one made! We found an amazing furniture shop totally by chance, and we’ve since had them make lots of bespoke things for our house. Surprisingly inexpensive and so much sturdier than ikea.
