Where can i get a nice large traditional clock

I can picture what I want - Black outer, 40-60cm diameter but ideally 50cm, with numbers not numerals, with a second hand. Ideally red hands or just a red second hand. Any suggestions where I can look. Like the Newgate clocks but with numbers not roman numerals and ideally matt not gloss. In a nice substantial quality. Thanks

thank you for these suggestions.

The wayfair one is the one i liked in john lewis but it is too small unfortunately. The ikea one has chrome and my kitchen is brass. I wanted metal sides and the thomas kent look flat.

any other suggestions welcome.

Antique shops?

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 22/01/2024 20:26

You can check TK Marks

Garden centres are quite good for that style of clock.

The outer is the wrong colour and it doesn't have numbers (well, it doesn't have numerals either to be fair) BUT it's an iconic clock and I immediately thought of it when you mentioned a red second hand...

Or this one from Braun? Maybe a bit too small but it does have black outer, numbers, and colour second hand. I have it in all black and would say it's not particularly shiny although I also wouldn't describe it as Matt...

Have you tried Habitat website?

aandexrayhelp · 22/01/2024 21:34

thank you for all your efforts. i have tried habitat. the braun and mondaine look far too modern. it is for a period kitchen above an aga on original chimney breast

Gotcha... in that case good luck!

OliveHenry · 22/01/2024 22:05

This is nice but sadly only 36cm diameter.

aandexrayhelp · 22/01/2024 22:14

yes the acctim one is the one i liked in john lewis but it is too small unfortunately, although it isnt nice quality so i was hoping to find a larger, nicer quality one. i want it to make a nice feature on the white chimney breast and tie in with the black aga. thanks for all the help

German cuckoo clock?

TommyandGina · 22/01/2024 22:36

Have you tried Smiths clocks? I think they'll have what you're looking for

fuckityfuckityfuckfuck · 22/01/2024 22:37

What's your budget? If you have a particular style in mind, I'd go to a clock shop but obvs going to be pricier.

I have a black giant Bramwell brown clock which was very expensive and a gift to myself! It's very striking yet also blends beautifully
