Where can I get good quality sofas from?

I'm looking for some new sofas. There is no budget and I want something that is good quality that will last!

I purchased sofology sofas some years ago and they were so awful. I had a 2 year battle with them to get the sofas repaired and eventually returned. I don't want to go through that again.

So ... Where are your sofas from and have they lasted you?

Natuzzi

We have two from the lounge co. Very happy with them so far but fairly recent purchases. They sell some of them in furniture village but have other models online. We have the foam cushions.

For modern decor I really like & own Roche Bobois Parcours & Mah Jong, also look at Minotti

Ours are from Nabru we are so impressed we have ended up with them in three different rooms! ☺️ Two big corner sofas that fit perfectly and one large sofa bed.

Amazing concept, price, quality and customer service. Such a breath of fresh air after rubbish sofas from DFS that also cost a lot more! Also extra marks for being made in Yorkshire and next day delivery.

Modular Sofas by Nabru: Corner Sofas, Sofa Beds, Sofas

Choose from a huge range of modular sofas, self assembly sofas, corner sofas and sofa beds available for next day delivery.

Duresta have this bought 5 years ago It seems you have to be prepared to pay quite a bit for anything lasting .
would never buy Dfs etc seen lots of friends that threw them out very early.
I have an ikea leather corner settee beautiful 30 years old .
got parts redone and was advised to hold onto it I have looked around and yes the quality of sofas have gone down .
you get what you pay for.

Does anyone have a Tetrad sofa? Are they any good?
Many thanks

Groupofone · 17/12/2023 10:57

Mine is from M&S I don't know if they even still do sofas but would definitely recommend.

They do still do them and I’ve been eyeing them up.

Groupofone · 17/12/2023 12:40

@MissyB1 I'm lying on mine now. This is my third M&S sofa, had a blue fabric one that got a bit tatty, a cream sofa bed which was brilliant and this brown leather one which has seen better days since three cats have had their way with it but comfort wise is great and really sturdy.

I'm tempted by those beautiful looking sofology ones and ideally would like a dove grey sofa but can't bear to part with the practicality of this one.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 18/12/2023 13:20

We bought from SCS about 7 years ago, and are very happy. Compared to a lot of places, we liked that we got to choose the style we wanted, and could have any fabric on it. Too many other places had limited fabric options for each style.

TheFutureIs · 18/12/2023 18:31

I've had my Nabru sofa, it's been dismantled and rebuilt twice in the 9 years I've had it and is still in fab condition. It's survived my 7 year old and the dogs I occasionally look after. They can be made to measure to fit your room and because of how they're constructed fit into awkward spaces

crozzfit · 18/12/2023 19:36

We have Natuzzi. Really lovely and comfortable too

LadyEloise1 · 19/12/2023 18:21

Avoid Tetrad.
I bought 2 of their sofas. And some armchairs. Expensive.
The velvet fabric was so thin and flimsy it disintegrated on the sofa back. It was in front of a north facing window and I live in Ireland, not known for its soaring temperatures.
Tetrad didn't want to know.

Agree about Tetrad - look the part but poor quality. Loaf are similar.

Lunaballoon · 19/12/2023 18:53

Another vote for M&S here. Ours is still looks practically new after more than 10 years. We chose foam cushions instead of feather to avoid having regularly plump up.

I recommend SLF24, just bought a sofa from them after finding them on ufurnish.com. SLF24 make all their own sofas in Poland, they have one showeroom but the quality is super high, great price point and speedy delivery. https://www.ufurnish.com/en-gb/l/sofas-sofa-beds?utm_source=paidsocial

I'm in the trade. You want beech/solid wood frames, mesh topped spring units (avoid zigzag/serpentine springs) and a decent guarantee. Any sofa maker worth looking at will offer at least 10 years on structure.

Kingcombe are the higher end but very good quality and part of the Colefax/Fowler group so use their fabrics. Or find a local upholsterer who won't charge you for fancy showrooms.

This comment is haunting me, I can't find a single company that doesn't use zigzag springs save maker and son who have a scary track record, and one very expensive sofa from darlings of Chelsea which would amount to over 10k for a loveseat and 3 seater sofa 😢 any recommendations of companies ? I don't think we could afford a sofa to be made

GooseClues · 23/06/2024 19:09

We’ve had one from The English Sofa Company for over 7 years. Still going strong and has survived little kids jumping, puking and rubbing chocolate on it. They do 10 year warranty but haven’t needed it yet.

Coastalcreeksider · 23/06/2024 19:15

I bought mine from Oak Furnitureland in April after a total of 35 years of leather sofas.

This one is fabric and I love it. It's had lots of compliments mainly due to the colour and it's really comfortable and cosy.

Usernamerequired123 · 23/06/2024 19:21

Interesting thread.

I've got mine from Sofology. It's been nearly 5 years. Deep sofa. Leather. Good for lying down on or two to curl up during winter to watch tv. I can see its getting torn at seams at places. But we have a 3 year old and he eats on the sofa and we eat on the sofa so maybe we'll keep it for 1-2 more years and then buy another.

Also have another small 2 seater Anyday John Lewis. We hardly ever sit on that. It's very firm.
