Where can I get good quality sofas from?

I'm looking for some new sofas. There is no budget and I want something that is good quality that will last!

I purchased sofology sofas some years ago and they were so awful. I had a 2 year battle with them to get the sofas repaired and eventually returned. I don't want to go through that again.

So ... Where are your sofas from and have they lasted you?

I got my corner sofa from marks and Spencer. It’s good quality and very comfortable

I used to have a Multiyork it was incredibly solid and well made. You can probably find them second hand

Loaf

Arlo and Jacob. They make super comfy sofas and chairs and personally I love that everything can come in any of their vast fabric selection. I hate when you go sofa shopping and each sofa only comes in six dingy fabrics, none of which are what you want.

I have an arlo and Jacob it's a 3 year old piece of rubbish! 😭

Oh no! Thats such a shame, mine has been brilliant (also three years old).

Could I ask what sofa you bought please and what the filling was? Happy to reconsider them if I maybe just bought the wrong sofa on this occasion

@MandyCandy another recommendation for Delcor. Not just fantastic quality but great follow-up service. Lots of advice given to help you with choice as well. Go on the website and have a look and then ring the showroom, They will be able to guide you on all the particular things you’re looking for. When mine was delivered, it was difficult to bring through a narrow entry point and they were able to dismantle, carry in and then rebuild in the room. They have a really good sale…. Or at least they did last January. Keep an eye out because I bought some extra furniture then and I think I got 20% off.

Isthisblocked · 24/06/2024 13:40

Oh, apologies @MandyCandy I haven’t answered your question…. yes, Delcor sofas last forever I have forgotten what the guarantee is but it’s a very long time…. It might be 30 years. You can send them back and get all kinds of things renewed as time passes.

ilovecatsmorethancheese · 24/06/2024 18:22

@Lemoonada I have two sofas - one is a fibre wrap and one a feather wrap. Both still comfy. I think I prefer the foam wrap to the feather (it's also the newer of the two).

Looking for one too. As this thread has been resurrected, Nabru which several people recommended has ceased trading.

Delcor. Have had mine since 1985. Reupholstered once around 2009. Highly recommended.

Snap. Not reupholstered though. As good as the day it was purchased.

Heals

ClydeBank · 30/06/2024 19:51

We’re super happy with our sofa.com sofas (one much older than the other but u really can’t tell).

they are the snowdrop sofas. V comfy but took a few weeks to soften up.

We bought our Heals sofa in 2003.It has completely kept it's structure, no sagging or dipping.I actually wish it would break as I'd like a corner sofa but DH won't part with it as it's so comfortable .It's also contemporary but classic so hasn't dated.

What did you go for in the end op?

I think this is literally the only recommendation for loaf I have read on mumsnet and I have done extensive research as looking to buy!

I asked a similar question recently and had mixed responses. I don't have a problem paying for something decent but I have found that even with some of the pricier brands you're paying for marketing rather than quality product. My Dad's approach is to turn the sofa upside down in the show room and check it's MDF or solid wood. But you need some courage, and physical strength, to do this.

If budget was of no object I would probably go for something like Maker and Sons.

ReformMyArse · 05/02/2025 07:17

I’ve had so many over the years. I would recommend Neptune and Sofas and Stuff. Multiyork were good but sadly now gone.
