Help me tie in a mad purchase colour wise please

Have been looking for a new sofa for our small sitting room, Dh and I use it all the time when on our own in evenings. We had an old eBay purchased leather sofa and I wanted to replace it.
Saw a lovely sofa on eBay and just up the road so impulsively bought it and now I'm worried it's going to clash horribly with the wallpaper. Changing wallpaper is not happening as I love it, sorry if you don't , can and will change curtains as have done a good job for 25 years 🤣
Any advice welcome, thinking new curtains, cushions etc

Curtains need to go. Sofa will work fine- it might just about pick up the darkest shade of the leaf in the wallpaper. I would go for yellow curtains from the yellow flower in the wallpaper.
Break up the sofa with some yellow, light green and cream cushions.

Pink curtains sound good @rowbotham!

I love Ben Pentreath's interior style - and for many years we had completely Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau interiors ourselves, but we've now embraced the eclectic a bit more!

I've posted these pics before (and it's obviously not all in one room, but shows how we've mixed blues, greens and pink in our current house) - the hall has William Morris Strawberry Thief wallpaper in indigo, ceiling is F&B Inchyra Blue estate emulsion and the bathroom (temporarily sans door) is F&B Setting Plaster eggshell/estate emulsion. The bathroom curtains are Voyage and we have loads of blue/green/pink accessories in both spaces....

Your house looks gorgeous. Love your style.

You can afford a bit of a clash with William Morris. This is our snug as we were decorating.

That's amazing. What a fab sofa.

Sorry- meant blush pink- not yellow. It will look great.

Done for now
Will sort new rug at some point but moving on to next room now !
Very much appreciate all your input, thank you

Just want to say that's a beautiful room, the style / windows - amazing.

Love the wallpaper.

I know you are moving on in terms of decorating but I'd really try to sort the rug sooner & maybe do a bit more to tie in the sofa. It does work but too many clashing patterns / textures / colours.

(But it's a problem I'd love to have, don't have anything as interesting in terms of room design in my sitting room!)

@rowbotham Sorry obviously skipped a page on the thread! Looks great! I’m not sure on the rug with it all but that’s just personal taste. Love the wallpaper.

Thank you! We're getting ready to put it on the market next month so doing finishing touches now 😉

@LibertyLily

I wish I could buy it! I love when posters share photos of their homes on MN. I'm in Ireland, obviously lots of great houses here too! But not the same range / variety of period properties so love seeing them here.
