Neutral colour for north facing

Quite stuck finding a paint colour for a north facing living room. The room has a north facing large bay window and is knocked through into the dining room which is south facing but only has a small window. Plain white is too stark. We’ve tried FB White Tie and it’s too creamy yellow for our liking. Sofa’s are green/teal. Not sure whether to try something like FB Dimity or if that will look too grey. Want something light and fresh, but not yellow or grey looking, or too cold 😆

I've used F&B Pointing - it's got yellow in it but it's warm and fresh.

Try F&B Shadow White and Shaded White.

Dulux buttermilk. Sorry, yes, it's definitely yellow-y but it works well in north-facing sitting room and sunny south-facing kitchen-diner. Is actually a good neutral too.

You could also try a warm light pink

Slipper satin

We put on some testers last night, FB Wevet and FB Dimity. Quite different colours. I do like Dimity but it’s coming out mostly taupe and might be too dark for a whole room. Wevet is coming out quite a light grey which I’m not sure about. Am wondering about Little Greene colours now

I'm not a fan of Wevet or Pointing. Wevet is a murky grey white and I used pointing for a bathroom and it looked like magnolia. Had to paint over it.
What about skimming stone?

Little Greene Slaked Lime gets lots of good reviews but it did nothing for me, I found it very stark. I would honestly try shadow or shaded white, the shaded white in particular changes colour with the light throughout the day. Farrow and Ball live chat is really helpful and they gave me lots of advice. Failing all that, have you looked at Dulux Heritage range?

F&B Skimming Stone - we have recently used this in our north facing sitting room and it is certainly not too cold. Has a nice warmth to it.

Maybe have a look at Little Greene Portland Stone - they do it in a few shades (standard, light, pale, deep etc). It’s a very forgiving neutral colour that will, pretty much, go with any accent colours you want to use re furnishings, accessories etc.

I found Timeless quite cold in an east facing room, which is similar.

Dulux Fine Cream is lovely in our north facing kitchen.

F&B skimming stone - we've just used this in our North facing extension and it's a really warm neutral greige.

Don’t use F&B it’s such bad paint. I’m a big fan of Lick paint, it goes on so well and has a lovely finish. My north living room is in Pink 01 and I’ve just ordered paint for another two rooms.

@MadamNoo i have memories of hating decorating and in my last home paid for a decorator. I’ve moved and thought I’d give it a go and it was so easy as the paint has really good pigment and doesn’t splatter everywhere . Enjoy your decorating !
