… what colour walls?

I ordered the darker green bed but once it arrived, it was actually sage, like the one in the second picture.

We are therefore rethinking our fern wallpaper idea, as a result as the greens were too bright.

Any ideas for a strong/ bold colour that would work with sage?

I would like a feature wall with wallpaper and painted walls for the other colour. Would like one of these not to be a neutral colour, if possible.

I’m not that confident with colour but love it when others make bold choices!

Any suggestions? TIA :)

(This is going to be potentially outing once my bedroom is decorated so have NC)

Bump… is anyone really good with colour? Is there quite a lot of blue in that sage? What bold colours would compliment it, please? Or am I going to have to stay sage and neutral

I'd say either neutral or a darker inky green.

It's so annoying when you receive something that's not the colour you were expecting. Can you return the bed frame if you're unhappy with it?

I would prob go neutral wall and add colour elsewhere in the room.

Someone on Instagram has gone with a similar sage-y panelling? A dusky pink could also go nicely.

Can you just return as it’s not what you ordered?

Gold or copper would work well, Oliver Bonas do an Iggy range that is gold and that sage green (if you’re looking for some shelves or something to tie in), or a navy or a dark hot pink, but if it’s the wrong shade just get some hammerite and paint it - honestly it will be really easy to do.
Or look at flowers, anything with a soft green stem, the colour of the flower will work well.

I'd go for a pale grey with a hint of lilac in it.

I like the contrasting sage green wall.

Thank you both so much for your replies. We were given the chance to return or accept a slight discount. We opted for the discount as we liked the design.

I love the panelling but unfortunately we need to add interest with either wallpaper or colour (rather than adding panelling).

i would so love to try to find a bold solution as we were originally going for bright green ferns on charcoal background!

Yes, I can see pink working but not keen, unfortunately.

I would think the bright green ferns would still work ?

@SirVixofVixHall they were really vibrant greens - almost lime and mint. We had them side by side but it just looked wrong.

That is really nice! And the neutral mid size pattern allows for bringing brighter, more interesting colour in on the fabrics.

I meant the green wallpaper in your pic, I don't know about terracotta elsewhere but I don't like browns but its your room! I'd go more mid tone neutral on the painted walls (oatmeal- ish), the reason I don't like terracotta with all this is because that is a brown yellow tone and this sage is a blue tone. Inky blues in the bedding would be great with that wallpaper and if I was going to accent with a yellow tone I'd go brighter, purer yellow in small doses.

@UnattendedPotato i think actually I was thinking more burnt orange than brown. Will see when the sample arrives:)

Walls are already oatmealish so I really would like a change.

You can always paint the bed to a color you prefer.
