Master bedroom, struggling to design around blue bed? Pics!

I am trying to design my master bedroom and I'm struggling, I like the sort of relaxed scandi look but the issue is I have a royal blue bed already that dh is refusing to replace, it's in very good knick so I get it, trying to design around it?

The background of both pics is a wallpaper, I'm guessing with the monkey one I'd just do one wall, and then paint the other walls some sort of shade of off white?

The hessian wallpaper I could do all walls?

Do either of these work?

Help me! Option A (monkeys) or option B (beigey one)

Or something totally different? Gah

Oh bugger I'm just thinking after spending hours doing those that I have light grey carpet? Neither of those will go with that will it? Sad

I instinctively prefer the darker look based purely on what you've put together, agree with plain on the other 3 walls.
It's quite a 'busy' pattern which makes it feel less relaxing but that's just my opinion.
The grey carpet wouldn't work so well with the hessian/brass tones but is the room so big that it would stand out? Would rugs help...?

I really like the monkey one but hessian probably more practical and easier to blend.
Out of interest how did you make those mock ups?

I think wallpaper is a good idea and a tropical one would be lovely but I’d do a contrasting background like green.

The second one. But without the shelf above the bed. As the headboard is quite tall I think the shelf would look a bit odd. Plus it might fall down and clobber you in the night.

I'd go for neither. I'd have white walls, and orange and blue accents through pillows, art, maybe a chair or throw.
The paper is ever so busy, and the hessian wouldn't go with grey at all.

Neither - monkeys too dark/busy, beige won't go with carpet. Agree something green themed.

I would look for a wallpaper for behind the bed that has blue, grey and white in it, with maybe another bright accent colour. Or paint the wall behind the bed in a similar blue to the bed so it kind of disappears!

To be honest I dont think your design looks Scandi at all. It's quite busy - but that's fine if that's what you are wanting. We have a similar dark blue bed and ended up painting the wall blue and having natural accents and linen bedding which gives a relaxed Scandi vibe despite the dark colour. See attached photo for a similar theme:

Go for monkeys! They are fun! Biege and griege and plain is boring! Have a bit of fun in your bedroom! No one else is going to see it! Also look at graham and brown and emma shipley

I'd get Valspar to colour match the bed frame to a paint. Paint the full wall behind the bed that colour. Then the rest of the room white.

Haven't read the full thread but had to post about the 'Namastay in bed' art work. Culturally namaste holds a lot of weight and meaning. Find out more about the background and meaning before you decide to put that up. Same goes for Namaslay T-shirts and randomly saying namaste at the end of yoga sessions.

I wouldn't go for blue walls as too matchy matchy. I like the first big patterned wallpaper but choose something like that in another base colour.

We have grey carpets which ive edited into that one to show the tone, we have oak doors so I feel I need to tie oak/rattan in somewhere!
