Worked our arses off. Room was a wreck when we start ( as is our whole 'project' house).

Doing 95% of the reno works ourselves, luckily OH is very handy and I love interior design!

DD (8 next week) loves it!

Have to crack on with DS's wreck of a room now..!

Thank you! i am really pleased with it, as a lover of colour I was able to really indulge. Dd loves rainbows and she loves how it turned out.

The fireplace took me about a week to strip back.. about a millions layers of old white gloss paint! Was worth the effort though as it is lovely.

@purpleme12 it's a vinyl decal which I love, but OH and I totally fucked up applying to the wall! You can't see from the pics but it has a load of creases in it.

Dd doesn't seem to have noticed though, and loves it so that's the main thing

I am a frustrated interior designer! Would love to be let loose in anyone's house.. my style can be a bit bright and eclectic though.. a fan of a minimalist interior would not be happy!

DD initially wanted an all pink room, but I persuaded her to break it up with another colour as an all pink room can be a bit much.

That's lovely. My dd who is 15 did her room last year, it went from lovely like that, to white, just white, white everything. She loves it and it has a certain 'class' to it but not as lovely as the colours.

@Catouttahell OH did the floor. He used a hand held orbital sander, so it took ages but we have found the big belt sanders can take chunks out of the wood.

Luckily most of the floors we have done so far have all been in good nick, just really, really dirty.

I think OH replaced a couple of the boards with ones from the upstairs hallway (which will be carpeted eventually). He put 2 coats of clear varnish on them and they came up really nicely.
