What are your favourite ranges in this brand? Or do you prefer a different company? Opinions please; looking for a new set x

The quality is not what it was. I had Storm when we first got married and it was pretty much bombproof. I replaced it recently with their Canvas range, but this chips and marks so easily I've already worn out more of this than I did the Storm stuff which was used every day for 20 years.

MrsTxx · 23/07/2021 15:13

Oh no, my current set is around seven years old and tough as old boots also. Thank you for letting me know your no longer impressed with Denby as you used to be, I’m going to have to reconsider now before buying a new set as I’m not spending nearly £300 for something that will chip.

If you can get to the Denby Pottery Village in Derbyshire, they give very generous discounts on the seconds and we honestly couldn't tell the difference vs first grade stock.

We have Imperial Blue as well so I can't help you with other designs!

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 15:31

Look around for spares for the set you've got.
drinking out of a Denby mug as I post

Last year I started collecting the element grey range and so far so good with two teen boys who are not the most gentle types. No chips in anything!

spinningspaniels · 23/07/2021 15:52

I've got a mix of the Studio blue and Studio grey. No chips, but none of it fits in the dishwasher very well....... wish I'd got one plate and tried it before buying a job lot.

We have the Blue Haze set. Quite happy with it so far. The retail store Boundary Mills also stocks end of line/imperfect replacements at a good price.

AluckyEllie · 23/07/2021 16:00

I’ve also got the imperial blue 😂 I love it.

I have the Halo range. Was a little bit Hmm when I noticed Moira on Emmerdale has the set Grin but it's been fab. A couple of the items have chipped but more about the way it's been treated by the family than the quality I think. Did you know you can buy Denby with Tesco Clubcard vouchers, even from their seconds.

ImbarbaraB · 23/07/2021 16:04

I have the Halo too and love it. Was partly a wedding present and it seems indestructible

MrsTxx · 23/07/2021 16:05

Ahh I do love the imperial blue but had it quite a while now, no chips/scratches etc but missing a mug :( think it was lost in a house move. Currently eyeing up regency green and monsoon filigree

I bought new Denby a year ago. It is marking from cutlery quite clearly now.

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 16:09

@MrsTxx, mine is the Blue Azure. 50p in a charity shop. There were 2 so a £1 well spent.

HeartZone · 23/07/2021 16:14

You can use your tesco vouchers at Denby online, including for their seconds.
🎉

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 16:18

There isn't a mark on mine. Smile

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 16:19

It's this one. Only £18.50 new.

Geamhradh · 23/07/2021 16:20

I have my mum's old Seville from 1977 and it's like new.
Was hanging my nose over Imperial Blue in the recent 40% off sale but they're not covering the import taxes for EU so that would virtually wipe out the discount.
I still think they're the absolute best.

I love the Denby Heritage range. Everything is a nice weight and it goes through the dishwasher a million times and still looks brand new and fabulous. I started collecting just the pavilion items but now I have loads of little bowls and bits in all the other colours like orchard. Do you have a Tesco club card? You can convert the points into vouchers to spend at Denby.

Sorry, you posted this first. Took me ages to write my message lol

Ahhh I hate when stuff like that happens! But I can’t talk as I’m obsessed with Chantelle’s (RIP) and Grays entrance hall wallpaper/mural on Eastenders. Oh really, I must look at my Clubcard points. I normally save them for the big Christmas shop

I’ve got the azure & a casserole dish, utensil pot and griddle pan oh and 2 halo plates bit of a mix matched set really but all sturdy and well used. Azure was a wedding present 16 years ago, all still in v good condition

KirstenBlest · 23/07/2021 16:34

@MrsTxx, I had no idea they were so expensive. I bought them because I thought they looked nice and were too good to leave. I only looked them up just now.

The local Cancer Research shop had some Denby stuff in a few months ago, only about pieces like a jug and similar. £3 a pop. Wasn't my sort of thing but a bargain for someone. They weren't vintage but not recent either.

And people poke fun at me for my 2nd hand shopping.
