Help me find the perfect greige paint for a south facing room.

I've tried:
Dulux rock salt- too light/cool toned

Dulux white mist-too cream

B&Q Whistler-too cream

Farrow and ball ammonite-too cream

Farrow and ball cornforth white - this is a possibility maybe just a shade too dark.

Dulux Egyptian cotton.

Proudpeacock · 29/03/2021 21:57

I second Dulux Egyptian Cotton

Clarabellawilliamson · 29/03/2021 22:02

Yup- I was going to say Egyptian cotton too!

Sew3stitch · 29/03/2021 22:04

Egyptian cotton here too! Have it in a few rooms and looks slightly different in each light but greige is a perfect description of it.

F&B Purbeck Stone

Thank you I'll pick up an Egyptian cotton tester pot tomorrow and have a look at the other ones mentioned too.

I think the room being south facing and having a massive window is throwing a lot of colours off.

Dulux just walnut is a great shade in my south facing rooms. It's a bright, greyish but still warm colour

sarahc336 · 30/03/2021 06:41

Yup dulux Egyptian cotton

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 08:20

Try Dulux Caramel Latte too. Egyptian Cotton has too cool in the places I've tried it in our house.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 08:21

Was!

GuyFawkesDay · 30/03/2021 08:21

Crown Smoked Glass.

I have it in loving room and it's lovely.

BattenburgBerry · 30/03/2021 08:24

You could also try Farrow & Ball Strong White, it’s a shade lighter than Cornforth White.

Lightsabre · 30/03/2021 08:27

Dulux Timeless

Little Greene Rolling Fog mid

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 12:03

@Lightsabre

Dulux Timeless
In our house it's an off white, liked a knocked-down-in-terms-of-brightness pure brilliant white. I would say it was a griege.
IstandwithJackieWeaver · 30/03/2021 12:03

Wouldn't say it was a greige!

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 31/03/2021 12:48

Egyptian Cotton is lovely, but if it's too dark, try Dulux Chalky Downs 6.

colette100 · 31/03/2021 17:50

I think Lick actually have a paint called griege, worth a look?

gottakeeponmovin · 31/03/2021 18:09

Timeless isn't greige it's an off white more creamy ie warm toned.

ItsSnowJokes · 31/03/2021 18:14

I tried Egyptian Cotton here after hearing everyone rave about it, and it was nowhere near greige with the lighting we have. It was so dark and had so much brown in it.

Rock salt works here though so you may have better luck with your lighting.

GiantKitten · 31/03/2021 18:14

Our hall/landing colour is almond white i think (decorator got paint mixed so I don’t have a tin).
It has just enough contrast for me with white woodwork.
Quite similar to Egyptian cotton but paler.

Pretty sure I have f & b cornforth white here and am surprised you felt it was too dark.
I think Egyptian cotton is much darker
