Quiche fix for awful bathroom

Can anyone suggest a colour scheme for a quick bathroom makeover?
It's a biggish room with a fairly small window so not much natural light, nice wooden floors and a white bath suite, the problem is the walls which are all wallpapered (apart from tiles round the bath and sink). It's currently rag-rolled (80s style) with a dark colour. There's a fair bit of paintwork on cupboard doors, window frame and radiator which is currently a very bright yellow!
It needs ripping out and starting again but it will be the last room to get done properly - I just need to do the best I can for now painting over the awful wallpaper (I daren't strip it as I'm sure it would need plastering which will have to wait). The tiles are mostly white with a strip of patterned tiles which I could paint over. I was thinking of cream colour walls with dark grey for woodwork - any other ideas very welcome!

Cheese and onion is my favouriteWink

just painting the wall paper with a light colour will make a big difference.

leeks and mushrooms here

Craftycorvid · 03/01/2021 10:32

Yep, you can’t go wrong with cheese and onion - it’s cold today so serve it hot with chips. Grin

As to bathroom - quick paint job? I know it’s a bit obvious but the colour scheme sounds like it’s making things look a bit cramped and dull. Accents like colourful towels and accessories or a window blind/shower curtain until you can get around to more permanent changes.

Well, Quiche Lorraine is a classic. Wink
But seriously, could you post a pic, might help with getting ideas

Weedsnseeds1 · 03/01/2021 10:34

I'm a fan of the classic Lorraine, personally.
With a yellow radiator you're part way there.

BethHarmon · 03/01/2021 10:34

I really fancy a nice quiche now. Haven’t had one over the whole of Christmas.

RubyTuesdayBlues1 · 03/01/2021 10:34

FFS! Quick fix, Quick!

Colour scheme suggestions welcome (and feel free to tell me your favourite quiche while you're at it).

I remember in ye olden days my parents had wallpaper that looked like tiles in the upstairs bathroom. Maybe something like that?

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 03/01/2021 10:35

(Broccoli and tomato)

inappropriateraspberry · 03/01/2021 10:35

I quite like smoked salmon and asparagus if I'm feeling fancy.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 03/01/2021 10:37

Egg bacon tomato.

Sorted

PheasantFarts · 03/01/2021 10:37

Shortcrust walls with a nice eggy suite and bacon accessories

Are those Farrow and Ball?

I'd go classic colours like blue and white or black and white. As pp said, add some bright towels for a bit of colour if you want. I'd do wood and radiator white, whatever colour you did in the walls, fresh, bright and clean.

Weedsnseeds1 · 03/01/2021 10:38

I made a Christmas leftover one once, with spinach, walnuts, blue Stilton and 0.5Kg of clotted cream. It was lush😁

Probably! I wouldn't recommend avocado though 😆
Merename · 03/01/2021 10:39

You win thread title of the day op Grin

cravingthelook · 03/01/2021 10:40

I did a quick paint job of Grey (white tiles) with black accents and teal
Towels - looks great.

I like all quiche that doesn't have evil onions in it

Good one OP!

I think paing cream and white wood then accesorise with plants, towels or whatever you fancy. Grey is a bit dated now I think.

WeeDangerousSpike · 03/01/2021 10:41

Goats cheese and asparagus here.

I worked in a quiche factory once

RubyTuesdayBlues1 · 03/01/2021 10:44

"What are the patterned tiles like? Floral monstrosities or something you can pick an accent colour from?"

They're pale blue and yellow check.

Hoppinggreen · 03/01/2021 10:45

Problem is if you get the wallpaper wet with paint it might come off anyway.
Not keen on quiche though

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 03/01/2021 10:50

I'd probably leave the tiles as I don't think painted tiles look good and paint the walls white or a paler shade of the blue on the tiles.

Chicken and blue cheese for the quiche (which would also tone nicely with the blue and yellow tiles, blue cheese and yellow egg).

Cleverpolly3 · 03/01/2021 10:53

Courgette, feta and sundries tomato is quite nice too Grin

Are you keeping the yellow radiator or painting it?

I wouldn’t put cream with white

if you don’t have a lot of natural light then how about biting a big mirror to create illusion of space and light?

I would paint the radiator a dark botanical green, buy a big mirror and do white walls with pops of radiator colour in towels and a nice print or even one wall in the same shade as the radiator.

Cleverpolly3 · 03/01/2021 10:53

Or sun dried even
