Nice candle 🕯 recommendations for cosy autumn winter nights in

Any recommendations for nice candles (that don’t loose their scent after the first burn) something to look forward to lighting to wind down with on an autumn and winter night in that won’t break the bank. Thanks

I'd recommend TKMaxx.
They have some amazing brands.
I'm personally happy with Wax Lyrical.

St Eval are a tenner but last a fair while.

Sweetchillijam · 18/10/2020 13:21

Thanks I used to love a good rummage and sniffing out the candles in TKMAX but I’m not venturing into town at the minute and can’t decide on which candle to get online by the descriptions.

I've got this lovely new brand I've discovered called Nikola Candela - really like all of them!

I find most candles from Next smell lovely everytime i light them Smile

Yankee Candle Red Apple Wreath is a lovely autumnal scent and as it’s sold as a Christmas candle, I guess it would work as a winter candle too!

I generally find Yankee Candles a bit overwhelming, but this one is relatively subtle by Yankee Candle standards!

LaBellina · 18/10/2020 13:35

Yankee candles are lovely and come in many variations. I also love Bridgewater scented candles. I read yesterday that Ikea and Byredo will launch a candle collection together from november so that might be interesting as well!

If you want to splurge, I recommend Valuspa or Dipytique.

MrsWonderland · 18/10/2020 13:41

Money no object then 100% Dyptique. A little less but still luxe - True Grace. More affordable - White Company

Sweetchillijam · 18/10/2020 14:50

I think I am looking at mid price range thanks.

Aldi candles are good - the bergamot and oud one in the grey jar is my favourite.

Sweetchillijam · 20/10/2020 20:31

I tried Aldi candles the ones that have similar fragrance combinations to the Jo Malone ones. The first batch I had were fab but subsequent ones were extremely to non existent fragrance wise.

Illume candles are good quality and throw their smell to the very end... I've bought them from anthropologie in the past.

LittleWingSoul · 22/10/2020 21:07

Oh and wax lyrical are very good too!

Chattycatty · 22/10/2020 21:10

There is a new business called Scents of the shire im not really a candle person but theirs are lovely soy with great long lasting scent.

paintmywholehousecobweb · 22/10/2020 21:26

Neom.

popcorndreams · 22/10/2020 22:05

The own brand range from home bargains. Orange brown one I think it's gingerbread. I normally use essential oils in my aroma diffusers so not into artificial smells. Although this is really not a classy scent and is quite artificial I love it!Blush really lasts well.

I've had mixed joy with tk maxx candles. The pekinsniffs range isn't very good. I did just get one in a brown screw top jar yester that smells great.

abricotine · 22/10/2020 22:13

Neom is fabulous. Also I have a lovely Sara Miller that comes in a little less.

bravotango · 22/10/2020 22:16

Local business to me called Liverpool Candle Company - I just got a very autumnal/cosy one called Snug that is VERY nice. Otherwise I'm also a fan of the Aldi ones and actually really like the Muji tin candles, but my god Muji deliveries at the moment are the stuff of nightmares so would avoid if online shopping only.

Nat6999 · 22/10/2020 22:17

I love the Woolwich branded ones, especially the large eclipse ones, not cheap but I spend all my Boots points when they are 3 for 2 or on Boxing day in the sales.

LeaveMyDamnJam · 22/10/2020 22:18

St Eval are on line.

Sand and Fog are at TK Max and can be bought on line.

ChelseeDagger · 22/10/2020 22:19

Mainstays, a US brand in the same vein as Yankee but you can get them on ebay/amazon for 5-8 quid.

copperoliver · 22/10/2020 22:19

Neom are my favourite but jo malone or Darceys are nice too. X

St Eval are lush. I love their Orange & Cinnamon and Figgy Pudding for Christmas.

Someone said Bridgewater candles, they use St Eval Figs.
