What colours to accessorise with forest green?

I have just ordered myself the Joules patterdale sofa in forest green. I will need new curtains, a rug, lamp and some cushions to accessorise and im not sure what to put with it.
My floor is oak my walls are cream except the fire wall is going to be treetops green.
I thought about mustard or pastel pink but not sure if it's to much. Im trying to steer away from the all grey trend.
Only other things we have in the room is rustic side table and rustic tv cabinet, black fire and built in bookcases on either side of the fire place.

Blush pink

MooPointCowsOpinion · 05/08/2020 20:04

Oooh I bet black would be amazing!

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 05/08/2020 20:06

Chocolate brown, cream, burgundy, black. Colours of the forest look lovely together.

Navy and Gold would look fantastic.

Cocolapew · 05/08/2020 20:31

Navy, blush pink

I like blush pink too.

Also lots of different greens work well together - forest green, sage green, turquoise.

Sorry I'm rubbish at colours but loooove that sofa!!!!

SingleHandSue · 05/08/2020 20:36

Ooh that’s lovely.

I reckon jewel colours and gold would look good with it.

Acidrain · 05/08/2020 20:44

I love the idea of blush pink accents, but dont think i would want pink curtains! I really love patterned curtains! I thought the rest would be easy once i picked the sofa but it's made it harder!!
@whichteaareyou thanks it's also amazingly comfy!!

I'd probably go gold/mustard or blush pink. But actually I think the former would be my preference -as yellow is opposite green on the colour wheel. I think a royal blue would also look okay.

BertieBotts · 05/08/2020 20:47

Yes I think blush pink too!

What about cream curtains, with a pattern in dark green and pink? Like vines or leaves with flowers.

BertieBotts · 05/08/2020 20:49

I don't think mustard would work that well. If you want yellow I would go for pale chartreuse.

Acidrain · 05/08/2020 20:50

@Bouledeneige i initially thought mustard and had my heart set on it as i already have mustard throw, green and gold cushions from my other sofa in the dining room.
Wasnt sure if it was to bold though!

This kind of palette would work (pick one accent colour)

I have a deep purple sofa and have just redecorated our lounge in deep green (studio green - Farrell and Ball). I really like the colours together

Glastonbury2020 · 05/08/2020 20:55

So jealous of your lovely new sofa. I'd love one like that, if it wasn't for the sticky fingers, dropped toast and spilt squash I have to contend with!
Blush pink!

wagtailred · 05/08/2020 20:56

Im not feeling blush pink. I think mustard.and a tiny bit of pale blue! (You need to see it)

Arthersleep · 05/08/2020 20:57

Stick to three colours in total. If you want more traditional, then forest green and a lighter green and cream. If you want to make more of a statement, then replace one of the other colours with either a mustard or a dusty pink.

Dogsgowoofwoof · 05/08/2020 20:58

Gold! I love gold and dark green together!

Acidrain · 05/08/2020 20:58

Leaning towards the blush pinks i think now.. Can anyone look for some curtains they think would work?
@Glastonbury2020 i have a 2.5 DS who is mess mad! The joys of stain guard protection haha!

If you type 'hex forest green' into Google, you'll get a hex website that shows complementary colours. They include wine, purple and a lovely clear blue that is just a bit lighter than navy.

I have fallen in love with that sofa! 😍

Notname · 06/08/2020 00:04

We have a forest green island unit in our kitchen diner, the accent colours in the room are orange and mustard, and I have curtains made from this fabric www.justfabrics.co.uk/curtain-fabric-upholstery/pomegranate-cheriton-fabric/ It poss doesn’t sound great but I think it works really well in practice! 😄
