In frame slab front. Like Harvey Jones Linear but different handles.

RiverMeadow · 09/07/2020 06:29

Just googled. Love it!

Don't know what style mine is...How would pale cream/stone painted inframe units with knobs, wood effect worktops and ceramic sink be described? Oh there's also a range cooker.
I'd be interested to know

RiverMeadow · 09/07/2020 07:46

@Bluesheep8 I'd say farmhouse!

meh style. I'd really like a new kitchen. I like the look of Naked Kitchens. I'm in an old farmhouse and have a v bland wooden kitchen. It does nothing stylise. But We have had heavy expenditure over the last few years and don't think we can stretch. Yet.

MiniCooperLover · 09/07/2020 07:52

Shaker in dark navy with a wood grain

YorkshireTea86 · 09/07/2020 07:57

White matt slab doors, wood effect laminate. I like to think of it as modern country style! At the time I was looking hardly anywhere did white matt slab doors, it was either gloss white or off white matt or shaker style white Hmm DIY kitchens was the only one I could find.

Amicompletelyinsane · 09/07/2020 08:02

Cream slab with wood worktop. Curvy units work surface

Chasingsquirrels · 09/07/2020 08:16

Sage green shaker, walnut effect laminate, plain white tiles, wooden effect LVT flooring.
Refitted last autumn.

I have this type installed last year except walls in the kitchen are white and splashback lime green (haven't installed yet :( ). I have a massive window over the sink so a lot of light and colors really complement each other imo.

While the shaker style is nice, the grooves collect dust so need wiping down. I underestimated the size of sink - bigger is better. Also went for a fancy tap like on those pictures and, oh, boy, when you open the tap half way water bounces off the base of sink and splashes onto worktop.

It is good to have freestanding white goods as integrated cost more (goods themselves/installation/replacement) and if you need to fix/access pipes it will cost more.

Overall I'm happy with my kitchen and it was a bargain :)

How did u get a bargain? I really really dont like my kitchen but 10k to replace it seems just too much to justify

LaughingDonkey · 09/07/2020 08:52

:) I was on a very tight budget. Originally I have calculated that I would need 8 units and about 5 metres of worktop. I was budgeting for £1,200 - £1,400 including all the screws, joints, etc.

This was B&Q shaker ivory Westleigh kitchen (discontinued last year when I was buying it) and came to about £1,358, I then added freestanding dishwasher. So the whole cost for units, worktops, sink, consumables and dishwasher came to £1,534.04. I then used kitchen fitter's Trade Point discount, so paid £1,383.52 :) Then paid to fit it inc plumbing.

LaughingDonkey · 09/07/2020 08:53

Oh and fan extractor as well!

Bluesheep8 · 09/07/2020 09:19

@Bluesheep8I'd say farmhouse!*

I was secretly hoping someone would say that, that's the look I was aiming for Smile

RiverMeadow · 09/07/2020 15:14

The kitchens all sounds gorgeous!

I do love the navy blue kitchens around at the moment but I worry it would make the room too dark?!

Current one is inherited, real oak shaker with some added detail (vertical grooves in doors), includes a couple of basket drawers, a plate rack, an open unit and a glazed unit. Black granite work surface, terracotta tiled floor. No budget to redo, but currently investigating repainting or changing the doors. I'd like to replace the basket drawers with normal drawers, and would be happy to lose the open unit, plate rack and replace glazed with solid doors. Will see what costs come back with...Oh we also removed the Aga as it was burning tenners, and will retile splashback.

Previous home we installed the kitchen, pale grey shaker units, pale grey veined granite, tumbled limestone floors. Sigh.

WinWinnieTheWay · 09/07/2020 16:17

We inherited it from the last owner.
I'm not 100% but I think the style might be called something like "beyond shit". We have no hope of having the cash to change it for the foreseeable future.

EltonJohnsSunglasses · 09/07/2020 19:55

Platinum grey shaker style with alpine white laminate worktop and amtico flooring. Love it but wish we’d had the budget at the time 3 years ago to have upgraded the worktops to something nicer...one day...

RiverMeadow, that's definitely a risk and depends on what type of light you have coming in. We are lucky to have a through kitchen diner so windows on both ends and the kitchen window is big. Also under cabinet lighting 👍. this is 8pm with under cabinet lights on

@Chasingsquirrels

I love your kitchen. We need to get ours done soon and yours is exactly the sort of thing I have in mind - a shaker kitchen with walnut worktops. Do you mind me asking where you got it from please?
