The cabinets are from DIY Kitchens - Norton painted sage.
The worktop from Worktop Express, I can't remember the name and - but can look and see if I've still got the paperwork. I had lots of samples from different places as I wanted to match with the flooring which I already had in the hall and was having run through the kitchen, utility & conservatory. This one was the best I found, I wanted laminate not real wood, but wanted a smooth not block effect. I then looked around for the best price.
I also got a long length of the cheapest laminate they had from the same place for the garage (the old units went along the back of the garage for storage).

@Chasingsquirrels

Ah, that's brilliant, thank you.

I had been looking at DIY kitchens actually, so that's good.

Maple shaker with modern handles and black granite. Doors are laquered so easy to clean.

Icequeen01 · 13/07/2020 00:00

We had our kitchen done in January and went for a shaker kitchen. Our last kitchen had oak wood units and black worktops, including a black resin sink which I came to despise. It was a Wickes kitchen and it didn't wear well.

I decided I wanted the exact opposite of what we had previously and went very light which has made the room look so much bigger. I have a white porcelain sink which I adore. My kitchen may not be the height of fashion but I love it!

Farmhouse, so farmhouse style kitchen - painted cream wood cabinets, oak worktops, range and exposed bricks and beams. I really want to change our ceramic tiled floor for slate flagstones.

Toilenstripes · 13/07/2020 17:58

Ours is German, modern, handleless, mixed materials. We just had it done in September and love it.

I have very plain off white, flat fronted cupboard doors which are really easy to wipe clean. Black granite worktop and wooden floor. It’s 10 years old now but has been easy to keep look8ng good.

MaisyMary77 · 13/07/2020 18:10

We’ve got a shaker style kitchen. It was put in last year. We went through Magnet-not sure I’d recommend them. It took over two months to install and was kind of stressful. 😂
Have used an older photo as it’s a bit messy at the moment. 😀

You all have such gorgeous kitchens! I think my whole house would fit in MaisyMarys Grin

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/07/2020 06:58

Late 1980s style. Sort of dark cream with light wood trim/edges.
We could afford to change it, but since it looks more or less OK and everything still works, I just CBA with all the faff and upheaval.
I tell myself that at least I’m doing my bit to avoid senseless waste.

If I did change it, I’d go for a plain Shaker style in light, non-gloss, off-white or cream. IMO they don’t date like so many others.

PontiacBandit · 14/07/2020 07:07

Ours is farmhouse/ shaker. Cream shaker units, solid oak worktops and porcelain sink.
I love the ultra modern slick and shiny kitchens but was worried how quickly the style would age, we didn't want to replace it again in a hurry.

Tuemay · 14/07/2020 07:12

White gloss slab.

I hate ridged doors because the gather dust!

BalloonSlayer · 14/07/2020 07:14

Mine is 10 years old and is similar to nanalisa's although with forgettable tiles.

Mine is getting tatty and I think is now considered dated but I still like it. I don't like the high gloss ones and would struggle to keep them clean.

FinallyHere · 14/07/2020 08:45

@Toilenstripes ohh I love the look of those high level kitchen cabinets. Is that real wood?

I would love to know the supplier. Looking for something just like that and finding the choice of wood very limited.

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/07/2020 09:05

An early 2000's MFI kitchen with beech beveled edge units and a black backsplash. Despite all the jokes that MFI stood for Made For Idiots it's absolutely fine, except for the door handles which were made of plastic and broke easily.

Toilenstripes · 14/07/2020 09:06

Hi FinallyHere I pasted the link below. It’s chipboard but it looks great.

Shaker stye units in Red Alder which has mellowed to a beautiful golden honey tone, handles are a sort of elongated rounded style, black granite worktops, rustic floor tiles, stainless steel appliances (apart from the green microwave which was a wedding gift and refuses to die). Couldn't find the right tiles for nearly 7 years then got dimpled ivory metro tiles. I've loved it every day for almost 16 years now.

Giggorata · 14/07/2020 09:41

Mine would be considered very dated, but I like it and, like GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER , I cba with all the upheaval.
It's wooden and I also have a random mosaic of tiles, which makes it very colourful, so I have really intense coloured walls and crockery on a dresser, that sort of thing.
Perhaps it will become vintage!

FinallyHere · 14/07/2020 11:03

@Toilenstripes

Oh thank you. I'm supposed to be busy at work but am looking trying to stop drooling

Toilenstripes · 14/07/2020 12:19

@FinallyHere Lol, I know! There’s also lots of inspiration on Pinterest. I love a mixed materials kitchen but there are some solid wood ones that are stunning.
