Shall I paint this and if so what colour?

Bought this sideboard and now not sure!
Do has said he can sand it back or paint it what do you think we should do? If paint is matt or satin best and what colour do you think?
The front door will be white with clear frosted glass. Ignore the bits and pieces on the top just playing around with ideas at the moment.

White or sage green. I have similar and we painted it white and it looks fab against our lilac walls.

Forgot to say that it also looks really nice as it is. It will look better once the door is done. So wait until then to decide.

Navy is all the rage at the moment.

Unless close up there are marks that we can't see in the photo, I would leave it as it is. It looks really nice.

I was thinking possibly sage @MashedPotatoBrainz and I love lilac walls that sounds lovely. What paint did you use?

I've no idea what paint we used. I thought I'd bought pale pink and couldn't be arsed to change it. We're not in the UK and I think it was local company that make it.

You could paint it a chalky white with the handles spray painted gold/copper. Also off topic but what colour is on your walls please? Good luck with the painting

I agree as it is it is a bit office like however if it was painted then I think it would look lovely. Xx

@GiggleMcdimples21 the paint is called Puebla and it is from the Goodhomes range in B & Q it's a nice colour for a large area I think.

I think painted white would be nice make your wall colour really stand out x

I hate painting furniture and only do it as a last resort.

I would paint it, put make a final decision on the colour once the door is in. To my eye the issue is that the cabinet and floor don’t match but also don’t contrast much if that makes sense!

I would put it in the middle of the nook as well.

Leave the top and varnish it for wear
