Help! DFS Zinc sofa - grey or charcoal?

Just ordered a 3 seaters in charcoal, but not sure whether I should change it for grey, which seems more popular! Has anyone seen the both colours in real? Their stores are obviously closed now, and it's so difficult to solely rely on the screen. Help!

This is our living room. The sofa will be placed against the wall on the opposite side, which is plain white!

Wow that’s a stunning room! What did you decide?

namechange12a · 14/07/2020 12:51

I would go for charcoal.

namechange12a · 14/07/2020 12:51

Old post!!

ginger09 · 14/07/2020 12:56

I’ve posted some sofa threads lately, this is now one of my contenders due to the dimensions fitting
I like the navy velvet and also the mink coloured one. What is the delivery lead time?

namechange12a · 14/07/2020 13:02

I'm biased because mine is grey and I thought the dark colour would be a nice contrast to the white wall. I'm sure grey is just as lovely though.

namechange12a · 14/07/2020 13:02

Mine is charcoal, not grey.

GloriousTechnicolour · 14/07/2020 13:05

We have it in teal and looking at it honestly makes me so happy. Smile

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 14/07/2020 14:03

@GloriousTechnicolour I just got my teal one on Friday. I love it.

peachypetite · 14/07/2020 14:18

How long have you waited for delivery?

ginger09 · 15/07/2020 10:39

@peachypetite Ordered on 28 May and was supposed to wait for 12 weeks, meaning until late Augst, but just got a call this morning it will come tomorrow! yay!!

I’m liking the sound of the dusky pink wall with it! Can we have pictures please when it’s here Grin

namechange12a · 15/07/2020 15:40

I think the pink and grey sounds lovely. I second pictures.

peachypetite · 15/07/2020 15:46

Dusky pink sounds lovely. Great it didn’t take as long. So my living room is dark brown walnut floor, the tiniest hint of blush white paint on my walls. Can’t decide whether to get the velvet or more neutral mocha. I am pregnant and not sure how practical velvet is with young kids? The velvet is also more ££

I think that looks absolutely gorgeous. I bet you're over the moon. That pink is just lovely and those floors are divine. Great choice. Grin

GloriousTechnicolour · 16/07/2020 14:45

That is LOVELY

947EliseChalotte · 16/07/2020 14:51

Grey will quickly go out of fashion in a couple of years and look dated. Just like the dark brown leather sofas people had. Go for a timeless, classic colour. Everything grey makes it look like your sat in a cave anyway ...cold, dull and damp depressing colour .

947EliseChalotte · 16/07/2020 15:08

I'd go for neutral, mushroom, pumice timeless and dateless. Brown leather sofas quickly came in and out of fashion before they looked dated , grey go quickly out and front doors, fences, walls , bathrooms everything people are going crazy with grey . Home furnishings , designers will be on thinking about the next in colour fashion , it's about profit making changes so people go out and buy things the new in colour. It's called profit and making the old look drab with grey will. Go classic and timeless colour. Xx

namechange12a · 16/07/2020 15:10

If you read the thread, the OP has already bought the sofa and there's a picture of it in situ. It looks lovely. Grey is a perfect neutral and I don't see how it will go out of fashion.

peachypetite · 16/07/2020 15:20

Grey definitely isn’t going anywhere! It looks lovely

ginger09 · 16/07/2020 15:52

@peachypetite Thanks I love it!! :) Talking about the velvet - I'm not an expert, but given my experience with a velvet chair we have in the living room, I love its look, super lovely, but I hate these pressure marks so much! Ours is just a £60 chair from Amazon though. Not sure good quality velvet would do any better? I personally wouldn't go for velvet if it's for your main sofa!
