Honest opinions- what do you think of this wallpaper?

I have a large(ish ) L shaped kitchen diner, and would ove this on one wall of my dining area.
The wall is quite long- 28 feet or so, kitchen is white, light wooden floors.
For contect the room is light, and I live surrounded by woodland.
The only furniture in front of is would be a wooden dining table and wooden chairs.

OH thinks it is naff, but doesn't care strongly enough to argue against it happening if it's what I want to do.

What do others think?

Like the idea of a mural but definitely not this one!

Not my cuppa tea. I just think if not done really well it will look awful and I would worry it may date/ fade badly. But not my house and if it makes you smile go for it. In fact try it if you don't like it strip it off no harm done. What have you got to loose?

I like it, but then I don't go to boardrooms etc to have it ruined for me.
Last weeks Great Interior design challenge, they used a beautiful wallpaper in one of the bedrooms. Maybe watch it and see what you think? I'll see if I can find it.

Here you go! It doesn't look as amazing on this website, but in the room it was gorgeous! If you are on Insta look up @thentheywentwild and there is a photo of the room with it on the wall. She also has a blog //www.andthentheywentwild.co.uk/blog Its the holiday cottage.

We have something very similar at work where the vending machines are, wouldn't want it in my house

We have similar at work too Grin

I wouldn’t as it reminds me of corporate offices. Or a service station.

I’m not keen on that one, but like the general idea.

I did consider this: www.photowall.co.uk/kathrine-lovell-golden-day-turquoisel-wallpaper
when we did our kitchen diner - similar set up as yours by the sound of it. I chickened our, but looking at it again now I still love it and maybe think it’s time to redecorate...

I don't hate it but I think you could get something nicer using the same colour scheme (which I love) but not as in your face.

No not keen

I think you can find a nicer version of a mural type thing

They have this in the A&E dept at Hull Royal Infirmary. I liked it at first but after sat staring at it for 5 hours when my dad was ill it lost its charm.

@Eminybob
I really like that one

Maybe something that's a bit more subtle as it's very green. I like the idea thought.

There is same, or at least similar, at Glasgow airport when you are going through to passport control after arrival... sorry that is all I can think of when I see it! It goes with tweeting bird sound effects!

I love a white kitchen with a green wall, but I'd go for something like this instead. www.wallpaperdirect.com/products/morris/willow-boughs/160488

They put exactly the same wallpaper in our office canteen and I complained. It's so tacky and horrid - I'm sorry!! x

namechanger0064 · 17/09/2019 22:23

Oh and they put green carpet on the floor, an attempt I believe to making it seem like grass! GrinShock

@namechanger0064 you should've and squirrels and hedgehogs in your office

If you have real woodland out of a big window, tacky photographic woodland will just undermine the effect of your great view.

Keep it white. Get some actual artwork, a picture, or something.

I rather like it - and if you do, go for it! It will certainly be a talking point. You decorate your house for your own enjoyment, not for other people.

Go for it! I like it! Grin

Not the whole 28 feet. There's be a pattern repeat, apart from anything else.

Also I think if you're going to go fake, don't put the real thing right next to it. It jars and it makes the fake bit look more plasticky. Karndean or laminate looks cheaper if you butt it up against a real wood floor. This will look garish next to the real woodland.
