The blandest bedroom ever.....help me make it lovely?

So as per another thread here, I’ve been decluttering and now I’m left with a navy bedroom with horrible bland bedside tables and a giant bed. There are no pics on the wall, no bedside lamps. Just my bed and a cot. It’s kinda a blank canvas. I’m embarrassed to post pics as the pics others have posted seem to equate to show homes! Has anyone got any ideas about making it beautiful.

Are you on a budget? A few cheap frames grouped together on the wall can look really effective, I have a multi-pic frame with wedding pics, a greeting card with a nice font which says "today will be beautiful" or some trite message, and then a watercolor print. Sounds a bit naff, but they do work together honest!
Also, how about a fancy lampshade and carrying that theme through subtly e.g. With coordinating pillows, accessories on bedside tables?
Buy an interesting rug?

Silver is lovely with navy. Get some mirrors and picture frames from a charity shop and paint the frames silver. Hang in a group or all over a wall.

I have some simple picture hooks on the wall which I hang all my necklaces on. They look gorgeous.

These light shades are nice, and not too pricey.

Get contrasting pillow cases, and pile pillows up on the headboard. You only need to use your usual one, but the extras look good.

I've seen people use patterned wrapping or wallpaper to cover the tops of bedside tables under a glass top. It really changes the look of them.

Sorry, forgot pics.

What about something like this set of prints from IKEA?

Hello all,

Thank you for this, the silver idea sounds really nice. I’d love a nice set of lamps, nothing very pricey as have two small kids. Budget can go slightly higher but obviously want to keep costs as low as I can!

I might post a pic anyway, who cares if kids are sleeping soundly in the cots, I NEED A PIC!

Again, try charity shops and some silver paint. That way you can get quite an unusual lamp without busting the budget.

Fairy lights! Always help make a bedroom cosy.

Littleredboat · 30/04/2018 22:32

Copper. Go copper, not silver.

I like navy, pale blue, grey and an eggshell pink.

And if you can spare the cash a fancy headboard

Littlelambpeep · 30/04/2018 22:39

Picture didnt post

cowgirlblues · 30/04/2018 22:39

And the bedside table ! Will make a huge difference ! Add cushions, a throw, silver or copper stuff above bed.

Eesha · 30/04/2018 22:41

I think I doubled up on boring pics but littleredboat, that looks amazing. Very me!

Littlelambpeep · 30/04/2018 22:41

I yes.. see it now. B&m stores have side lampa for 9.99 in silver sparkle. Really look more. Nice throws.

If budget allowed a luxurious headboard would make all the difference

Eesha · 30/04/2018 22:42

So should I get new bedside tables? Where do I start? Soft furnishings? I can’t paint, so the wardrobe painting thing is a pipe dream!
