The blandest bedroom ever.....help me make it lovely?

So as per another thread here, I’ve been decluttering and now I’m left with a navy bedroom with horrible bland bedside tables and a giant bed. There are no pics on the wall, no bedside lamps. Just my bed and a cot. It’s kinda a blank canvas. I’m embarrassed to post pics as the pics others have posted seem to equate to show homes! Has anyone got any ideas about making it beautiful.

Get rid of the pine
And make your bed with the pillows on top of the duvet and standing up, get a throw pillow for the middle

Sorry posted too soon

Ikea have some nice simple silver lamps with a white pleated shade that would look nice if you’re going for silver
Maybe a photo wall above the bed with a mixture of photos/prints etc

Of course you can paint. Why can't you paint? It's easy, I promise.

Can anyone recommend any side tables as a starting point? I love the copper idea plus the ones that little red mentioned.

Posh sparkly bedding with big pillows and with tons of different shaped and textured boudoir cushions.
A tall white silk orchid on the bedside table?
A small but beautiful sparkly chandelier.
An ornate mirror to make the room bigger and brighter.

Does this look OTT? I have a real problem with buying very intricate fussy looking things whereas I’m looking for something to make my room stylish and classy....

White throws white rugs copper or silver trimmings. Get a big headboard on your bed.

N2986 · 01/05/2018 08:24

I like the lamp. Can't see your curtains but I always think curtains can transform a room. Second hand ones off eBay can be fab

Eesha · 01/05/2018 08:29

My curtains are silver, nothing fancy. I’ve been debating getting a nice new curtain rail etc. For headboards, do they fit onto any bed, sorry for sounding a muppet but I bought my Warren Evans bed and didn’t realise you could add headboards to thrm?

Can anyone recommend style or colour of headboard?

I think it depends on your bed type. I have a divan and can change the headboard. I'd go for something quite tall

Eesha · 01/05/2018 17:01

MIne is one of the flatter warren Evans ones so not really sure

This is only 15quid. I prefer it to the dunelm one, but it's all a matter of taste. I'd sort bigger items like mirror first.

Sainsburys have loads of reasonably priced accessories that would be lovely with navy and they look really designer. Bought something very similar to something my sister paid double for in oliver bonas

Eesha · 01/05/2018 22:40

Thank you square corners, I’ll take a look. Shame the website is so rubbish and I can’t take a decent look online....

I take that back, there is a separate site! Ok, that sorts out what I’ll be doing for the next few hours!!!

A simple cream headboard from Dreams £89 + delivery for a double bed.

Eesha · 01/05/2018 23:18

Thanks clutterbugsmum, just thinking, my bed has a wood frame, would it look odd to combine leather and wood. Even though I like this bed head.

Look on eBay for headboards. I was sceptical but now I’ve had a few and they’re fantastic.
