Hi! I need ideas. My last was from cargo homeshop which no longer exists. J Lewis seem v expensive. Usual ones on retail parks I don't like the sofas. Looking for something classic but not granny-ish in neutral or heather. Thank you!

Mine was under £500 and from John Lewis last year. They aren't all expensive ones!

funnyfoursome · 09/01/2018 13:43

Wow great response thanks everyone! Am working my way through the list!

Sofa workshop.
It's taken a battering, and we are a big family, but it looks good after 3 years.

Squ1ggle · 09/01/2018 13:50

Ours is from next and I would definitely buy from them again. Excellent service and quality

funnyfoursome · 09/01/2018 17:07

Thanks I will definitely look at John Lewis again then!

Bought two velvet button-back sofas online last summer from SofaSofa.
Good value and good customer service.

Duresta.

They are expensive but imo worth the money. We are looking for another sofa atm and have tried out some different ones but none come near in the comfort department so will be getting another duresta.

runningtogetskinny · 09/01/2018 17:42

Greatduck I second Duresta, one of ours from Barker & Stonehouse is by them, quality and comfort are great

Killerqueen2244 · 11/01/2018 22:28

We brought our leather sofas from Indigo Furniture, they were slightly more expensive than John Lewis but well worth the money!

Tortadellanonna · 11/01/2018 22:29

Gumtree.

Bowerbird5 · 12/01/2018 07:53

Laura Ashley.

Got it in seconds. Nothing wrong with it except dye colour wasn't right. It was a new colour. We liked the colour and sofa still comfy after 10 years or more. Covers looking a bit faded now but ok. Hard wearing chenille/ cord texture.

PinkAvocado · 12/01/2018 08:02

Our Harvey’s ones have not lasted well. Two years and one has broken-the feet have snapped-and both have lost their shape in the cushions. We contacted CS as under warranty but despite them saying they’d call us back, they haven’t.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 12/01/2018 08:17

They're so comfy aren't they running? I don't think anything else comes close!

Orchardgreen · 12/01/2018 08:26

I didn't know that Multiyork has gone into administration. I've had two sofas from there for 20+ years, three sets of covers and as good as new.

thethoughtfox · 12/01/2018 08:36

DFS of all places: extra wide seats and ridiculous soft and comfy. We are sprawlers and loungers so squish and size were most important.

Todamhottoday · 12/01/2018 09:06

Barker and Stonehouse, Tetrad brand bought over 20 years old still in excellent condition, expensive at the time but well worth it, cushions feather, backs and arms also with feather, so comfortable

hodgeheg92 · 12/01/2018 09:13

OP please look at Harveys Furniture Facebook page before ordering from them! Last time I checked they'd turned off the ability to post to their page but people could still leave comments on the Harveys posts.

We had a dining set from them last year. They repeatedly delivered the wrong/damaged goods (I'm talking 2 yellow cushioned chairs and 2 blue ones at one point!) and customer services were awful. It was about 8 months from first ordering to getting our money back (after they'd re-collected their furniture, which took them 2 attempts).

Our sofa is from Oak Furniture Land, great service and quality.

Furniture village - parker knoll

Cantspell2 · 12/01/2018 15:19

Beales. Reasonably priced. British made to order sofas and chairs with hardwood frames.
Why wait for 12 week delivery for a sofa to be shipped half way across europe when you can have made to order in lancs and delivered in 4 weeks.

Todamhottoday · 12/01/2018 15:43

Cantspell, thats why I like Tetrad, made in Lancashire from hardwood frames, and my sofas are screwed, not glued together

Nightmanagerfan · 12/01/2018 15:57

Laura Ashley. I wouldn't recommend - it's aged really badly in three years and customer services are useless. My parents have 15-year-old sofas from there that look better than mine, so I can only deduce that the quality has reduced.

Chewbecca · 12/01/2018 16:02

Multiyork, fantastic quality. It is 14 years old and still looks nearly new & the cushions are as firm and the same shape they originally were. Only downside is it has dated a little and I can't justify changing it.

Kenworthington · 12/01/2018 16:04

2 from habitat. About 15 years ago and they still look amazing and really modern (they’re an original mid century design) and also a velvet curved sofa that my grandmother bought from the ideal home show in the 1950s Smile

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 12/01/2018 16:09

Arighi Bianchi ... travelled there after seeing it on The Real Housewives of Cheshire!

Toomanycats99 · 12/01/2018 16:11

Next. Reasonable price and lasted well.
