Would like reasonably warm, prepared to spend a bit

But Maurituis would be worth it

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 19:55

Have you been Mrs D ?
It looks lovely (and hardly more expensive than tenerife)

Fabulous and my sister honeymooned there in May.

We loved it

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 19:59

Who did you book with?

Will there be enough for DD (she's 7)

The Seychelles are in the Indian Ocean, about 1000 miles east of Kenya. Very very beautiful. We went in August - I think the temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year, not sure about rainfall - you'd need to check.

The Seychelles

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 20:09

Goa keeps coming up...does anyone know what that's like?

lou33 · 10/07/2005 21:22

went to goa in 1990/91 and loved it, tho it was more hippified then. Great weather tho (but i did get dysentery there)

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 21:24

I just want to pay someone to decide book it all then I can blame them when it all goes wrong

OP posts:
lou33 · 10/07/2005 21:25

what is your budget?

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 21:27

Well tenerife that week is about 2400 - so I'd go to about 3000 - 3200 for somewhere nice (that's 2a +1x7yo)
No injections or maleria

found the bahamas for £3271, freeport, island palms hotel, on expedia.

any good?

lou33 · 10/07/2005 21:44

phuket for £2478 close to beach

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 21:53

it looks like I could get something really good like bali or Thailand or somewhere for less than 2500, nice site (not seen it before)

Thanks Lou - lots more to think about now

if you go to phuket, don't stay in patong, in fact i would recommend you go to one near the airport, nai yang or nai thon, small no loud clubs, beautiful beaches, no groups of rowdy tourists, its v laid back (i'm going to nai yang again in nov)

it might even be cheaper to book flights and accommodation independently by doing some research yourself

and if you do go to phuket, don't bother with car hire until you get there, it's a lot cheaper and there are loads to choose from

lou33 · 10/07/2005 21:58

as long as you avoid patong you should be ok tho, or you could have a look at ko lanta, it's a faorly big island, still a bit hippified, rooms at all rates

lou33 · 10/07/2005 21:59

nearest airport for ko lanta is krabi, and then about an hour and a half drive, inc 2 five min car ferries

KatyMac · 10/07/2005 22:04

woah - so much information
