Cor - your list is like mine!

I've done a few on your list, and this year we are doing 10 days at Parc Albatros in Tuscany, followed by 3 days on Lake Como and 4 on Lake Brienz in Switzerland.

So, when do you want to go and how long for?
What is your budget?
Fly / drive / train etc?
Any DCs? What ages?
What sort of things do you like to do?

nappyaddict · 28/01/2010 14:23

Like all sorts of things really, anything from quiet and tranquil to lively and busy.
Looking to go in Feb.

Other places that interest me are:

Egypt
Caribbean
Mexico
Tanzania
Zanzibar
Goa
Mozambique
Dakar, Senegal
Lagos, Nigeria
Lamu
Kenya
Cape Verde
Tunisia
Morocco
Bali
Sri Lanka

I am thinking of a mini break in somewhere like Prague, Budapest or Amsterdam. Is there anywhere else that has the same sort of feel?

I went to Marrakech last Jan / Feb and stayed in a fab fully staffed villa. Dar Tamazerte (they have their own website). Seems to tick your boxes, short flight, winter sun, totally spoilt with staff who are charming and do everything. They run special offers in Jan and Feb so fantastic value. :)

Was it hot enough to be sunbathing in your bikini on the beach and swim in the sea?

Marrakech is not on the coast so no beaches. Hot enough to sunbathe by the pool

We're going to Dalyan in May. Will report back.

Try Slovenia for long weekend or a week's. Get to the lakes and mountains, http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=lake+bohinj&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=BkN&pwst=1&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=ivnsm&source=lnms&tbs=isch:1&ei=fOI5TbCmCcuqhAeb7OWmCg&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CBUQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=820 especially Lake Bohinji for utter gorgeousness. AnD Llubljana is very cool, minus the drunken tourist hordes.

merryberry · 21/01/2011 19:51

oops. and sorry again. no sunbathing in slovenia in feb:)

geordieminx · 22/01/2011 15:04

I would take Tunisia off your list for now Grin

Not for feb, but Nice/Cannes are amazing, i would stay in Ville Franche (google images...it's like balamory), as it's only 7 minutes either way on the train to nice/Cannes.

Got a few more to add to the list :)

Mainland Greece
Thassos
Kassos
Symi
Karpathos

Malta
Montenegro
Madeira
Sardinia
