Skiathos in Greece was hot last late September, but it could be raining one week, hot and sunny the next (we had a good week)

How hot do you need ?

Valencia was 35 deg C last week, and locals said it was 25 in Sept / Oct.

greek islands? or mainland? halkidiki is meant to be lovely

PollyLogos · 29/06/2005 12:06

Halkidiki being northern Greece might be a bit changeable in late September. If you go for Greece go down to the islands in the south Crete, Rhodes,Kos .I think I'd go for Crete.

There are security issues in Egypt, best to look at the Home Office website before you book anything. The BBC website does world temperatures as do most tour operators.

What about Cyprus?

moondog · 29/06/2005 12:10

Turkey will be lovely. Am planning a drive down to Antalya at that time. Temp a bit lower and the hordes will have gone.

Morocco!
Fantastic place, very accommodating people, cheap, exotic and very easy to get around.

cardy · 29/06/2005 12:13

Northern Cyprus is lovely, wasn't too keen on southern Cyprus myself....a bit too 'English'

biglips · 29/06/2005 12:13

cyprus is hot as i went 4 yrs ago, we flew out on 13th sept and came back a week later, it was roasting all the way thru the holiday and on the last day it went up to 100.. it was abit too hot for me

biglips · 29/06/2005 12:14

i went to south cyprus - limmersol (sorry cant spell the name of the place)

moondog · 29/06/2005 12:15

The Turks would be glad to hear you say that, cardy.

cardy · 29/06/2005 12:19

It was so much nicer. I have friends who have just brought a place there....very reasonable. Perhaps that means I can 'borrow' it sometime

mogwai · 29/06/2005 14:25

another vote for skiathos. We had a scorching fortnight there one september and it was a lovely island

workingmumnhs · 30/06/2005 04:49

try bulgaria. About 24 degrees in summer. PLUS IT'S DIRT CHEAP. 50p a bottle of beer.

GillyT · 30/06/2005 08:25

You don't need to go too far. We did a tour of Europe in September 2003 & it was sunny & warm in Germany, Switzerland & France.

In fact, the south of France is always a safe-ish bet for September...

LOOBYLOU2 · 30/06/2005 13:40

We went to Sicily last September
Gorgeous - great food too

Pinotmum · 30/06/2005 13:45

We went to a small village near Alicante, Spain in early October last year and the weather was beautiful - lovely long days and not too hot - probably lte 70's / early 80's max which is fine for my pale lot
