where is hot in late September (no more than 4 hours flight away)

Eilat in Israel, absolutely gorgeous and hot all yar round , red sea is beautiful there and lots of water sports

we went to thassos, the most northerly greek island, in sept once...it was beautifully warm and not too busy

sorry to hijack but I read cardys comment and (as usual) made me feel sick. I know it's not the point of this thread, and i apologise again, but cardy I hope your friends are really careful about who they bought from as they will be taken to court if they've bought a house that belonged to someone who was forced out.......

cyprus is out now as can't get the flights. Looking more likely to be Spain. I did look at Greece but again the flights were a bit of a nightmare (flying from manchester)

Late Sept is really just late summer across the water, so anywhere in Spain, Portugal...and the South of France would still be warm.

Serenity - I'm sorry I don't quite unsderstand? I didn't intend to upset anybody. The father of the friend who bought the place in northern Cyprus is from there so I just assumed they knew what they were doing. I didn't really think it was my place to question it.

I just thought this was a thread about nice places to holiday, and with friends from northern Cyprus and having been to visit I thought it was a lovely place. I am sorry if this offends anybody.

Been to a few places late September - Rhodes was gorgeous, Cyprus was also lovely and Gran Canaria - which was very hot, but not as nice as the other two. Could have been to do with where we stayed though!!

Have a look at Tapestry Holidays website (can't do links soory: www.tapestryholidays.com) - they will have specials for Sepetmber, they do flights to Dalaman in Turkey from Manchester - Turkey is gorgeous, lovely people, good food, the weather in late Sepetmber when i went 3 years ago was 28-30C, and it's very cheap when you are out there.
Tapestry do nice pretty accommodation in lovely places like Kalkan and Turunc. They also do Cephalonia and Pelion (on the mainland in Greece)

Also if you want somewhere with a kids club you could try Simply Travel fom their Tamarisk Beach Hotel or Tomsan Villas (for self catering)if your kids are aged 5 or under in Turkey. Flights to Bodrum form Manchester.

Canaries would be my choice in sept. We've been going there for October half term the last three years - and it's been fab.
