Meeting Point nr M5 north of Bristol?

We're looking to meet up with friends halfway between both starting points, probably just north of Bristol. Children are 3 & 2, so something to do/see and a place to eat would be really good. Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you are in the running for a slightly posh lunch in a child friendly pub, with playground outside, you could try the pub which is attached to http://www.calcotmanor.co.uk/food_drink/gumstool.htm Calcot Manor hotel?

Or go to Westonbirt Arboretum or Slimbridge to see the birds?

Pleaseplease try out Slimbridge.

It's abolutely fantastic.

Please take wellies and a change of clothes for DCs as one of play areas has this lovelylovely manufactured teenytiny stream (totally safe) for them to play in.

Could spend hours and hours there.

Restaurant is fab too and loads of heathly options for all. A refreshing change.

Let me know how it goes if you go!

GoBananas in Stroud is good. Another vote for Slimbridge here though!
