Can anyone explain BA Miles& Tesco to me?

I have £400 of Tesco voucher - these can be exchanged for about 96000 BA miles

I think....maybe - is that right?

Do I book the flights? then get the vouchers? what happens if there aren't any flights left after I have converted the vouchers to miles?

Basically can I fly to Jamaica with them?

Oh Damn I only have £340 vouchers that is 81600

Or is it?

Can I use my mum's tesco's vouchers if I register us as a family with BA?

From website you can fly there for 2 weeks. in January for 6500 points per adult, and 5850 per child?

"In order to collect BA Miles you must already be a member of the British Airways Executive Club and will need to provide your membership number at the checkout. If you are not a member you will not be able to collect BA Miles but can still collect Airmiles".

there needs to be a catch somewhere - as I see it you have enough for 4 people to fly to the carribean 4 times?

Yes I do it! Not sure about the conversion rate - is it 40 miles for each £2.50 in vouchers but to answer some of your others q's:
(i) convert Clubcard vouchers to Airmiles first. You don't get a paper voucher for the miles like some of the other deals, they just go into an airmiles account. If you don't have one already I think that they set one up for you but t takes a couple of weeks. Then the miles just sit in your account until you are ready to use them!

(ii) Don't know if you can use your mum's tesco vouchers - you can't use someone else's Airmiles but if Tesco website lets you credit the vouchers then the Airmiles would be yours! Worth a try...

But the miles don't really equate to the journey - a free jamaica flight seems to be 50,000 miles which is £212.50 in vouchers

But the flights at Christmas are £1000 each

You can join BA Exec Club; its easy to do so online. Would first get BA to confirm exactly how many airmiles you would get with your Tesco vouchers.

I think this must be a misprint as airmiles are 60 for £2.50

you only 7680 miles -

60 for every £2.50 therefore
240 for every £10 therefore
240*32 = 7680

TBH, if you want to go to anywhere longhaul at Christmas, you are very unlikely to be able to get BAmiles flights - they go basically as soon as the flights are released.

If you tell me some dates, I can check availability for you. You can join the BAExec club on line and get a number straightaway I think

Geordieminx - my Tesco site says 60 for airmiles & 600 for BA miles I guess it must be a mis-print

BA miles and airmiles are different. So 600 BA miles per £2.50 is correct - round trip will be 50,000 miles per person. But just because you have the miles doesn't get you on a particular flight, so I would be amazed if you could go at Christmas. And you still have to pay taxes and charges.

Your mum can also get an exec account and you can combine as a household account, though might have to check terms and conditions.

Blimey do you really have £340 of vouchers? That would be (x4) £1360 in Virgin holiday vouchers. Could use that to get to Jamaica?
