Usually book well in advance but we didn't think there was a slot to get away until that week cleared miraculously.
Have been trawling websites for 3 days

Presumably you have tried this?

Have you tried phoning Cornwall Tourist Information they may have a list of available places

piratecat · 22/07/2008 10:56

most change overs are saturdays, and are showing as sat 2nd-sat9th aug.

Fimbo · 22/07/2008 10:57

I don't know why the first link didn't work as working for me - anyway it is Cottages4You. Have a look at their website - very expensive though £1543.00 for the week

piratecat · 22/07/2008 10:58

does it have to be cornwall, not devon (biased)

LullyOfShallot · 22/07/2008 11:02

Yes have tried cottages4You & tourist board.
Nothing
Lots do have Fri-Fri but August is such a complete no no

Well...we go a lot to Devon & stay with friends in Dartmouth.
I absolutely love Cornwall...

Have considered Norfolk,I.O.W etc but for lots of reasons would prefer cornwall

at 1543.00 for a week

piratecat · 22/07/2008 11:06

ah, yes see your point, i am near dartmouth.

I fancy going here
www.motheriveysbay.com/index.htmlthis year with the tent. Had a look at it once, few yrs back.

Would a luxury caravan be out of the question?

medogsarebarking · 22/07/2008 11:07

how about this

LullyOfShallot · 22/07/2008 11:09

Ooooh lucky you
I lived there for some years it's beautiful

I dont think I can persuade dh to do camping/caravanning
We like our space otherwise I may go bonkers

medogsarebarking · 22/07/2008 11:13

oh, didn't look at the details there - not many in that last list are suitable.

Think you may have to widen your choice of area...

LullyOfShallot · 22/07/2008 11:16
