Jet2 Airport to Hotel Transfer (Lanzarote)

How does hotel transfer work that has been booked as part of a package holiday? I’ve never done it. We went to the same hotel last year and did fly Jet2 then as well.. but I didn’t book a package holiday as paying for the flight and hotel (plus taxis) separately was cheaper than paying for it all together via Jet2.

Yep, that makes much more sense but still very annoying, makes the included transfer very unappealing!

Definitelygoing · 22/09/2026 19:14

Often have to wait ages on the coach for everyone else to arrive, and often the rep doesn't explain why. Even when another flight was late in, we had to wait which seems very stingy.
On the way back the coach was quite old and broke down (temporarily) going down a hill. We were late to the airport but luckily the flight was delayed!
That was Jet2 and Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote, 3 years ago.

I might take a taxi then as we are going to Playa Blanca which is quite far away. Wondering if I can check with the Jet2 people first how long the bus is likely going to wait for others. If the bus is leaving pretty much straight away I’m thinking get the bus but if it appears that we are waiting for ages grab a taxi.. what does everyone think?

I think you will get a vague none specific answer of it’s usually x minutes.

If you get a private taxi transfer don’t forget to tell the rep.

You might be able to upgrade to a private transfer in advance, contact Jet2 to ask. Otherwise, I'd ask the rep when the coach is expected to leave and which stop number you are.

Also check out the timetable from the public bus stop at the airport to PB and how close it goes to your hotel. There's direct bus once an hour that only takes half an hour or so (162D, there are other buses but they stop on the way so take much longer)

162-D Arrecife – Airport – Playa Blanca | Intercity Lanzarote

It costs around 4/5 euro per person, although if there's a few of you, you'd probably might as well get a taxi if you want to ensure the quickest transfer especially if your accommodation is not close to the bus station in PB - mine was and I was travelling alone, so I just walked the last 5/10 mins to my hotel.

Whenever we’ve been to Playa Blanca we’ve been one of the last hotels to be dropped off and the drive time was fine. The issue is the wait on the coach for other passengers. If you’re concerned, I’d book a private transfer. We’ve done it before and the cost was reasonable.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/09/2026 08:01

There will be jet2 reps everywhere. We had them at the baggage claim and then dotted on the whole route out of the airport. Very visible in their uniforms. Lanzarote airport is easy to navigate and fairly small. You will be fine.

I get private transfers, but with jet2. So easy to be directed and they introduced us to our driver, quite impressive. Then on return to the airport they were waiting where the taxi stopped and helped us to the airport terminal. Really didn’t have to think at all. Having flown all over the world by ourselves it was an odd feeling to literally “have our hands held”

mummyh2016 · 23/09/2026 08:07

You can check with the rep when the bus will leave and how many stops. A couple of years ago we went to Menorca, bus left as soon as we got on and everyone was going to our hotel so no stops on route. There were people on our flight who had paid for private transfers who arrived to the hotel a good half an hour after we did. They ended up cancelling their return private transfer and get the coach, which then ended up taking an hour longer as it more or less did a tour of the whole island picking people up!

Thanks again for all the helpful info.

Won’t take the public bus as am travelling with DC (just turned 7) and won’t manage with luggage and walking to the hotel - but would totally do this on my own, so thank you.

I now can’t decide whether to book transfer in advance or whether to wait until I know more about the Jet2 bus and then get a taxi. Does anyone know if getting a taxi on the spot is easy enough?

Just bumping for myself - in case anyone knows whether it’s easy enough to get a taxi without booking

It should be, they're pretty well organised. I think the taxis are all 'official' with fixed fares so all the drivers queue up at the rank as do passengers, it's all clearly signposted from the terminal and there's also often queue marshalls, in case anyone needs any help, eg child seats or in our case, a car big enough to take DPs bike, they got on the radio and sorted it out.

We've done OK a few times the other way too, we don't use Uber or similar, but in various Spanish cities we've just walked up to the nearest rank and asked the first driver in the queue to take us to the airport/railway station or wherever. The drivers know they get decent fares by doing the airport runs, so there always seems to be plenty of them around.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 23/09/2026 21:04

Thanks @BjorkdiditI’ll play it by ear as to whether we go for the Jet2 bus or go to the taxi rank then.

Look and see if your hotel has a Facebook group, it it does search on there for transfer time, it'll give you a good idea of how long it realistically take. Or trip advisor.

Will do, thanks @NameChangeScot

Taxi rank is outside the airport doors. It’s impossible to miss. It’s a great island and everyone is welcoming and helpful.

That’s great, thanks everyone. Does the bus stop at different hotels or is there one bus per hotel?

We got a taxi organised by. TUI I appreciate you are with a different company but if you are the only people going to the hotel they might just put you in a taxi,

We went to lanzarote last year for the first time and we loved it, enjoy your holiday

DancinOnTheCeiling · 24/09/2026 09:16

Thank you @Lomonald

We’ve been to Lanzarote numerous times. Our last time was just a few weeks ago and we have always used the jet2 transfers, the jet 2 reps are all there showing you where to go and what number bus to get on.

we heard this year that the buses are having to pay to be in the airport at arrivals and therefore they aren’t waiting long at all. We dropped at 3 other hotels and therefore there were 2 more drops after us. We went to Costa Teguise this time.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 24/09/2026 09:47

Thanks @2chocolateoranges that’s helpful.
