Jet2 Airport to Hotel Transfer (Lanzarote)

How does hotel transfer work that has been booked as part of a package holiday? I’ve never done it. We went to the same hotel last year and did fly Jet2 then as well.. but I didn’t book a package holiday as paying for the flight and hotel (plus taxis) separately was cheaper than paying for it all together via Jet2.

When you arrive find someone with a jet2 t shirt, clipboard or sign. They will tell you which coach, bus or taxi you will be on.

Not sure how jet2 notify of the return pick up times. Tui normally send it to you in the app. Easy jet gave us a QR code to scan and then we used that link to check the return time.

Once you collect your suitcases, you head out of the airport. The jet2 reps will be near the doors advising you which coach to get on. There are usually quite a few. That’s assuming you’ve done a normal coach transfer with them. If you’ve done a private transfer, I think you’d speak to the reps too, but I’m not certain.

It’s all very easy. But you have a little wait if there are several flights arriving at similar times.

houseofstark · 20/09/2026 22:10

Return transfers are in the app and you’re notified by text. There may also be a jet2 folder with transfer information in the hotel reception

ExpertlyDecluttering · 20/09/2026 22:12

We got a message about time and pick up place a day or so before leaving, I think it was a pop-up link to the app.

FoxandDuck · 20/09/2026 22:14

Usually, you get your bags, go
through customs and then find the Jet2 rep who will check your name off and tell you which coach you’re on. In Lanzarote, it’s about a 5 min walk to the coach stands and there are about 30 bays which are clearly numbered. There are plenty of reps there too who you can double check with & all of the Jet2 coaches will either be in their livery or have very large Jet2 signs in the front window.

That’s great, thanks everyone. Does the bus stop at different hotels or is there one bus per hotel?

Usually there's a few stops, I think jet2 has maximum of three stops now with their express transfers. The driver will shout the name of the hotel, but listen carefully because they are not always that clear. It can help to have Google maps on your phone so you know when you're close to your hotel.
The Jet2 page for your hotel will tell you approx how long the transfer is.

Have a great holiday!

Thanks so much @NameChangeScot😊

I think it's luck of the draw with transfers, depending on how close you are to the airport and the flight times of the people on your bus - there could be other flights arriving a little time after yours, and then obviously you have to wait for people to get out of the airport in a timely fashion, not everyone does this or is mindful that others are waiting for them.

I always compare the cost of DIY vs a package and either could be cheaper, there's no rule and there's advantages and disadvantages of either way, eg the package transfer will take you right to the door, whereas the public bus could be a walk away, which I'm often fine with and obviously taxis could be expensive if you're not close to the airport. But if the cost of the package is a little more, I sometimes book that way anyway because I like that it's all taken care of and none of it is my responsibility to sort out any issues, eg taxi or bus doesn't turn up.

I find the transfer can also take a lot longer if you're not in the first stop or so, the public bus service to a lot of Spanish resort areas is excellent and very cheap especially for one/two people. Not all holidays get express transfers but I'm booked on a Jet2 package with this next month to the east coast of Mallorca where it says there will be no more than 3 stops to my accommodation but others didn't have this option as standard and I've been others where there might be 4/5/6/lost count.

Ah the joy of Lanzarote! Get your baggage, find jet 2 woman with clipboard, walk half a mile to coach following everyone else. Get on correct coach. There’s loads of different ones!

Thanks everyone

If you have spare cash, arranging a private transfer is so much quicker and less waiting. I’d always do that now….

So worth it to make life easy. It will drop people off at other hotels yes so worth looking how far you are from the airport. We went to Tenerife two years ago and were about an hour drive so decided to upgrade to private transfers which was definitely worth it especially as we were on a late flight.

ExpertlyDecluttering · 21/09/2026 08:52

We did private transfers too in Gran Canaria as our resort was furthest from the airport and it was an evening arrival, taxi, nice and easy. However when we left I felt slightly self-conscious as two Jet 2 buses arrived, one for us and one for everyone else, then we all arrived at the airport at the same time too. I wondered if the people on the main bus noticed!

MiddleAgedDread · 21/09/2026 11:09

Download the jet2 app. It said we'd get transfer info 48hours before departure but the time window was actually on the app the day we arrived. I had a couple of emails and text messages reminding me of it later in the week and then 30min before the pick up window (we had a 30min pick up window) it showed how many stops the bus had done/ had left to do. This was handy as we were the 5th of 6 stops so we knew we had time for an another trip to loo and once they'd done the stop before us we headed outside to the front of the hotel.
On arrival there were jet2 reps immediately outside the doors as you came out of baggage collection, they directed us down to another stand where they allocated us a bus number and told us where to find it. We weren't in Lanzarote but our bus went by resort rather than hotel and had passengers off more than 1 flight. We had a while to wait for everyone and then a bit of a drive round dropping people off (we were last but one drop off). So I'd recommend grabbing drinks and snacks as you leave the airport and making sure you've been for a wee before getting on the bus ;) our 1 hour direct drive turned into about 90min until we got dropped off, plus a wait at the airport.

Part of the package holiday fun is judging other people's hotel choice from the transfer bus! 😁

I always skip the coach transfer and get a taxi. Airport to Playa Blanca is aroung E50 and other resorts much less. You get there in a fraction of the time and will be checked in and relaxing by the time everyone else arrives.
I let the Jet2 people know and get the coach back

bababamama · 22/09/2026 17:27

Last two times our hotel was the only drop (big hotel) on our return last time they sent a 7 seater cab for us and one other couple … it varies basically. Your hotel reception usually displays transfer details for the return too

MsWicked · 22/09/2026 17:33

We never get the transfers, just a taxi (15/20 euros to PDC) but I love arriving on Lanzarote, easily my favourite happy holiday place. Have the best time!

I agree

We waited about 90 minutes for the coach to leave as one had just left - then we were the last to be dropped off after going all around the island. Got to the hotel around 23.00 instead of the expected 08.00

Next time definitely a taxi
