Where should we go first week of November? With teens - memory making!

Hi all
So i need to book another holiday lol
We have just had a fun week in Les Gets which was amazing and thank you all for recommending.
I want to do something again during the first week of November as my youngest gets 2 weeks off for half term. Any recommendations?
There will be me, hubby, 18 and 14 yr olds.
We love spectacular views but also up for something bucket list.
I was considering Norway but not sure its the right time to go? Or even New York for 4 or 5 days as my kids have never been to the US before.
I just can't decide.

I don't want a pool/beach holiday i want it to be more memory making but we are limited to a week maximum.

Would be really appreciative of suggestions :)

most of Europe will possibly be grey, dark and rainy

Canary Islands is the obvious exception but not sure if that would be memorable enough

if you can afford it, New York could be a great option at that time of year

DH and I don't have children, but often travel to Southern parts of Europe in Nov because its still pleasant enough for T-shirts, but less crowds. Depending if you are into history, wandering around towns etc, some ideas

Great time to do South Africa. You can get flights for £600 each and it's really cheap when you're out there. £4 for a bottle of wine, £8 for a steak, £60 for a house for a family of four per night.

One October half term we stayed in Pompei for a few days to see Pompei, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. We then got the train to Rome and visited all the classic ancient Roman sites for a few days. We all loved it. I think DS was 10.

Went to Lucca and Pisa a little later, the first weekend of December.
The sky was cloudless blue and the square with the leaning tower only had little pockets of people strolling around. The photos look as if nobody else was there.

Night times (in Lucca) were romantic with some festive lights. There is also at least one company that has horses (named Mario and Luigi) that pull a carriage to do the route round the old walls, or shorter versions, including at the earlier end of the evening/sunset. I didn't book it as thought it would be tight to arrive there for that...I regret that mightily.

Norway would be cold, wet and dark! Not great in November. We had 2 weeks for autumn half term and went to South Africa (virtually no time difference), Egypt down the Nile, Morocco, New York (can be cold but lots to do), Caribbean (hurricane season should have gone), sightseeing in Southern Spain, in fact anywhere that’s way too hot in the summer! South of France was great too and we like Washington - again there’s loads to see.

I would have suggested Jordan but I think the orange idiot has likely put people off that wonderful country in the short term. It's got everything though. Our kids absolutely loved it.

Took my kids to NYC similar ages.
Best holiday ever and memories for life.

Nov will be a great time to go too.

Walt Disney World.

All the Christmas stuff will be starting, the weather will be great, the rides are awesome. I love it

South Africa or Disney? Not much of a competing there! SA all the way.

I would say NYC absolutely.... Flight isn't too long and its like being in the movies.. DC favourite trip... We did slightly longer as did a few days in Washington 1st but NYC on its own is fab..

Other options South Africa safari? Its a long flight but no time difference... Check weather tho..as less effective at certain times of year

Closer.. Morocco..
Even closer Seville/Granada or Barcelona
Or Berlin... Fab city ... Stasi museum, the wall favourites and v memorable

I was going to suggest NYC. It'll be very cold. And I'd check with them in advance if there are things they have always wanted to see and do there.

Other places our DC loved for a long weekend/short week: Budapest. Iceland.

New York around the Mid Terms will be tense

The teens would love NYC. Could you do 4/5 nights there then fly down to Florida?

I’d go NYC for sure and am actually going at that time for about my 10th trip. There’s so much to see and do, and weather is crisp and dry that time of year

Another vote for South Africa Safari. We went to Zimbali Lodge for our honeymoon it was amazing.

NY is great if you can put up with the tipping culture and the expense. However SA is easier with time difference and you can drive the garden route in a week. Cape Town and a safari if that doesn’t appeal. The weather is perfect in November. Zimbali is a resort I think. There’s bush camps that are very authentic!

Iceland will be cold with short days. Much better in summer.

November half term is perfect. Not too, too, too cold yet, and still a decent chunk of daylight.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads It really can be dark and horrible in November. Boat trips, if running at all, are cold and it’s very likely to be very windy and wet. There are 6 hours of sunlight. Temp highs: around freezing but feels colder if it’s windy. Save your money for the summer.

Good time for Orlando/Disney

Slovenia. There is so much to see and do, mountains, lakes, rivers for rafting, zip lining.

We had a fabulous break in Athens last November. It felt gloriously warm to us (the Greeks were wearing coats ) and was perfect sight seeing weather - warm enough to sit outside with a cocktail but cool enough to see the sights without melting.
