Where should we go first week of November? With teens - memory making!

Hi all
So i need to book another holiday lol
We have just had a fun week in Les Gets which was amazing and thank you all for recommending.
I want to do something again during the first week of November as my youngest gets 2 weeks off for half term. Any recommendations?
There will be me, hubby, 18 and 14 yr olds.
We love spectacular views but also up for something bucket list.
I was considering Norway but not sure its the right time to go? Or even New York for 4 or 5 days as my kids have never been to the US before.
I just can't decide.

I don't want a pool/beach holiday i want it to be more memory making but we are limited to a week maximum.

Would be really appreciative of suggestions :)

Africa safari

Most southern European cities or North African ones work in November with global warming because summers are 40 degrees!

For those saying SA safari how long would we need there? Would 4 or 5 days be enough?

Where would I book everything?

If anyone has done it please could you let me know where to stay and what to do .

@Ckannte4-5 days on safari is fine, but you need to go somewhere else as well. You could go into the Winelands. The Drakenburgs and then end up at Kruger or an adjoining concession. I’d suggest 8 - 9 days. Look for ideas with Wildlife Worldwide. Joburg isn’t great for a holiday but safaris are not cheap. The Garden route would be cheaper. Fly to Cape Town, hire a car and drive! Whales should still be around.

Seconding Athens ! We went last year in late Oct and early Nov and LOVED it was we can't take a lot of heat. We saw the sights of the city and then did a few days out in our rental car. Food was amazing and very reasonable.

We’re looking at a similar time for next year and are debating between South Africa (currently top choice), New York and Arizona (Sedona/Saguaro but you could do the Grand Canyon as well). South Africa, you’d need the week; you might just be able to squeeze in Cape Town, a Winelands visit and a short safari (I echo the pp who said it’s very cheap when you’re there). We’d book everything independently with a hire car but you could also look at Intrepid/Explore/ G Adventures and see if they had anything that works. Trailfinders would also help a lot in putting together a holiday like this if you’re not confident, though they don’t offer more budget options if that’s a concern. I’m not looking at anywhere in the Middle East area at the moment, though previously would have. Costa Rica ideally needs longer but is a possibility.

Barcelona is good with a teen and nice weather at that time.

We went to NY last few days of October into start of November. If you can get there before Haloween that was an amazing experience - mine trick or treated. I think the Christmas stuff is starting to be il then as well - Macy’s was decorated from what I remember.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads We didn’t in September a few years ago. Blizzards and high winds and pouring rain on other days. It’s very volatile and on balance the summer gives a better chance of decent weather!

I’d definitely consider Norway for a trip like this. Early November can be a great time for dramatic scenery and a completely different experience from a typical family holiday, although you’ll need to be prepared for short daylight hours and changeable weather. New York would be the easier option for a first US trip and there’s plenty to keep teenagers entertained for 4–5 days. If the main goal is creating those “we’ll never forget this” memories, I’d lean towards Norway for the adventure and scenery. I’ve found that choosing the right travel tech and packing light also makes family trips smoother, something I’ve learned while looking at options from Laptop Giant.

Jordan- the Dead Sea, Petra and Wadi Rum all amazing places. Really friendly and welcoming people. We loved it there.

November is a month for war commemorations. Consider Ieper (Ypres) and you can visit a number of other places nearby- Ghent, Antwerp and Bruges come to mind.

How about Luxor in Egypt? The weather will still be very pleasant and there is so much to see there.
