Haven’t booked any thing yet as we were waiting for final confirmation of my schedule.

we had thought Paris but that seems like madness in this heat.

looking for ideas of where to go please. 5 nights, budget about £3k for a family of 4 but could stretch.

I should have said that I live in Scotland so would prefer somewhere a bit further afield. 😂😂

Iceland is a good shout would up the budget for that.

I'm in Jersey at the moment. The weather is perfect and the island is breezy.

Itwillbefinehonestly · 10/07/2026 17:55

Anywhere with aircon in your accommodation.

minipie · 10/07/2026 18:52

Look at weather forecasts, it’s changing in a lot of places next week. Cooling down a bit and possibly rain. Ile de Re is mid 20s after Sunday for example. Dorset looks ok if windy.

Cuwins · 10/07/2026 19:14

Scotland!

PermanentTemporary · 10/07/2026 19:19

Pembrokeshire.

sunshinehappydays · 10/07/2026 19:26

I would love to go to Northern Spain-San Sebastian and Bilbao. It’s much cooler than the South. I’m just back from Denia in southern Spain and the heat was almost unbearable at times. Lots of activities we couldn’t do as it was just too hot.

I live in Cornwall and it's absolutely amazing at the moment. I have been to lots of different beaches along the south coast- the sea is clear and blue, pretty decent temperature. I swam for over 40 minutes today and yesterday. I spent today on Carlyon Bay beach and it was like the Med. There's nowhere like it in this weather.

notanotherfootballmatch · 10/07/2026 20:11

Am on holiday in Cornwall as well at the moment (currently in a pub while my partner watches the footy), it is very hot and we are swimming daily in the sea.

Cooler in SW England. Go there

Not much cooler. 35c in my back garden in Cornwall this afternoon.

Husband is there at the moment for work - it's about 11c, 5-6c with wind chill and it's rainy / misty.

I'd want to go when there's snow on the ground personally!

MoonlightAndDadDancing · 10/07/2026 20:17

North Wales - Llyn Peninsula is beautiful- has lovely uncrowded beaches and it’s a bit cooler! Failing that Pembrokeshire! I’ve been in Aberdaron all week - it’s been lovely!

Twoshoesnewshoes · 10/07/2026 20:23

Madeira

im in Devon - 32 degrees today but it is so lovely, been swimming in the rivers and cooling off in ancient woodland…

TeamGeriatric · 10/07/2026 21:31

Porto in Northern Portugal, it's always significantly cooler temperature wise than say the Algarve. Espinho good for beach time, looks like 25 degrees next week. More out there suggestions a combined Jurmala beach break / Riga city break or Coronian Spit near Klaipeda in Lithuania. Klaipeda a bit of a pain to get to.

JessyCarr · 10/07/2026 21:33

Currently in St Ives and can confirm Cornwall is showcasing its gorgeousness.

CrikeyMajikey · 10/07/2026 21:37

Scottish Highlands in this weather. It’s beautiful.

coronafiona · 10/07/2026 22:28

Ireland. It’s beautiful for normally rainy. Great opportunity!

Lincslady53 · 11/07/2026 21:47

West Cork. Cheap, short flights, beautiful scenery, friendly locals, drive on the left, and if the weather is good it will be brilliant. Good entertainment all over the place.

whiteroseredrose · 11/07/2026 23:28

Riga? We’re going soon. Flights and apartment for 2 for 4 nights is under £1000. And there is a beach a short train ride away apparently.

Projectprincesschaos · 11/07/2026 23:45

Scotland
Iceland

Antarctica tbh.

Yes please 😂

ShetlandishMum · 12/07/2026 19:30

Scotland.

With a higher budget Scandinavian/Nordic or Iceland.

Mariettta · 12/07/2026 19:31

The Black Forest.

OneNewEagle · 12/07/2026 19:31

If you are after the heat stay in the uk and go for the south coast . I’m in the se we have the heat. I have family in Dorset and Devon and Cornwall they also have it. so perfect weather for a week by the sea.

Besidemyselfwithworry · 12/07/2026 19:33

I’d do Northumberland or Scotland currently!!!

Abroad over the summer - somewhere a lot cooler or wait until October half term and consider Tenerife perhaps?
