Going to Loire valley to stay with IL's in July, they are going to have DD so that DP and I can have two nights to ourselves in Paris. What would you do with them? I need ideas!

We are obviously planning to stay in the hotel a bit and catch up on sleep and errrm stuff but would like a nice evening out too.

I love the bateaux mouche - a guided boat trip on the seine. Do it after dark. It is an excellent way to see the beautiful architecture all lit up at night, the gorgeous bridges with their gold statues etc. If you sit up top it's romantic snuggling in the evening air.

go up the eiffel tower at night when it's lit up and down the champs de'elysses it's lovely and there are some lovely restaraunts down there.

We went to Laperouse on the left Bank. It's quite pricey but they have these private dining rooms upstairs a deux - very romantic! They used to have locks on the doors and it was where the VIPs took their mistresses in olden days. In fact each room has a chaise longue - in case you can't wait til you get back to the hotel - and you ring a bell when you want attention - well from the waiter at least....The mirrors are all scratched where apparently said mistresses checked out that the diamonds they were given were real.....Food was scrummy but the champers was 25 euros a glass!

The Rodin Museam (musee Rodin) is fab. It is full of beautiful sculptures like 'the thinker' and 'the kiss'. I think it is very romantic place to go.

We will of course have lots of sex but want to have some time out too! Maybe even a nice meal without a baby on my lap

I like the boat trip idea, I have romantic visions of us prancing around paris at night and doing stuff like that but weren't sure whether they were a rip off.

Prancing around Paris is allowed

You will have a wonderful time whatever you decide to do.

MissingMyHeels · 16/06/2008 21:03

Ooooh fabulous ideas - I love the sound of a private dining room! Off to google
