I have one week's annual leave to take in November.

Where would be good to go to in November?

Morocco
Madeira

edited to add Canary Islands

Sunbathing sunny or sightseeing sunny?

I was in Morocco 1st December and I wouldn't class it as sunbathing hot but nice for walking about. Low to mid 20s. Similar to Benidorm/ Alicante in Spain.

I've had hotter weather in the canaries in December so I'd pick one of those over Morocco/ mainland Spain.

I like the heat though!

Oman. It’ll be hot.

It is fabulous too. Lovely calm place.

Jordan is too but might feel a bit close to the action right now.

Canaries, we came back on Saturday - very hot sunny days and warm evenings, 27+ most days. We were in Lanzarote but I think all islands are similar

susiedaisy1912 · 30/10/2025 12:57

Friends have just returned from Cyprus and it was very hot.

cheapskatemum · 30/10/2025 13:06

We’re going to Fuertaventura next month - I have similar preferences to you. We also looked at Lanzarote.

recklessgran · 30/10/2025 13:10

Gran Canaria. We spend a week there AI every November, January and March - it's the best way to get through the winter and we skimp on holidays during the summer to be able to afford it. Hope you have a lovely time OP.

MissAmbrosia · 30/10/2025 13:28

Andalucia should be lovely still during the day.

MiddleAgedDread · 30/10/2025 13:31

If you want to stay in Europe then the canaries is probably your safest option. The Mediterranean has had a hot summer but there’s no guarantee it’ll last.

Minto111 · 30/10/2025 14:00

Thanks for the suggestions. Im browsing through places online at the moment too.

I just saw a good deal for flights and an all inclusive in albufeira portugal.

Has anyone been there?

FrenchandSaunders · 30/10/2025 14:03

Albufeira won't be that hot I don't think

Pjnow · 30/10/2025 14:04

I've just come back from Valencia. We had one day of rain, but the rest was blue sky and beautifully warm, swam in the sea everyday.

It's my favourite European city so far.

I went to Benidorm last November, which was also warm and suited the group holiday I was in, but probably wouldn't go back.

The year before Lanzerote in early December was warm but very windy.

MiddleAgedDread · 30/10/2025 14:04

Use Accuweather for an idea of weather conditions. Albufeira is forecasting 22-23degrees this week.

Nameeechanged · 30/10/2025 14:05

Not Europe but not much further flight time, but Cape Verde is gorgeous weather then.

lemoncrisp · 30/10/2025 14:19

I'm in Benidorm now. It's gorgeous! Hot enough to sunbathe, cooler evenings now. Been here 7 weeks and only 2 weeks left.

Minto111 · 30/10/2025 14:28

I decided to go with Albufeira. Only because I have been to the Canaries before. Ive booked the place now. 21 degrees is enough for me!

We’ve been to Portugal (near Faro) late November a few times. It’s cold when the sun goes down, but it’s been pleasantly warm during the day most days. Certainly shorts & T shirts by mid morning if you’re out being active, and sitting in the sun is usually possible around midday if you can get out of the breeze. That said we have had the odd cool and rainy day, but still much nicer than at home!

It’s always lovely to be there in the sunshine while everyone at home is dealing with mud… I am rather envious.

Maddy70 · 30/10/2025 15:33

Canaries

isitmyturn · 30/10/2025 15:34

Portugal won't be sunbathing weather in November. It's winter there. You might be lucky and get some sunny days but I would go to the Canaries if I wanted guaranteed warm sunshine.

The weather forecast says it will 21 degrees in Albufeira next week.

I was in Ibiza last month. It was 21 degrees there. It was lovely and sunny

It may well be sunny, but it will only be 21 C (my app says 19) for a couple of hours around midday. It will be cold when it’s dark, and it will be dark between about 5pm and 7am.

As I said, I’d be there if I had enough annual leave left, but you do need to take plenty of layers for mornings and evenings.

It doesnt matter. Im not expecting it to be roasting hot all day every day. Anywhere that is a few degrees warmer than here , is what I want.

I don't think anywhere is roasting hot all day every day in the winter. It changes everywhere. I was in ibiza last month. I had two days of really lovely sunshine and three days of clouds. I still enjoyed it!

I was in Mallorca last month. Ten days of which 3 had a cool wind, one day of rain and 6 days with a mix of sun and cloudy spells.
September is the last month you can get reliable warm weather in the med. Portugal isn't in the med and is often cooler even in summer.
