I have one week's annual leave to take in November.

Where would be good to go to in November?

It doesnt matter. Im not expecting it to be roasting hot all day every day. Anywhere that is a few degrees warmer than here , is what I want.

I don't think anywhere is roasting hot all day every day in the winter. It changes everywhere. I was in ibiza last month. I had two days of really lovely sunshine and three days of clouds. I still enjoyed it!

Ah that's fine then. It's just you posted earlier that you wanted sunbathing weather.
Enjoy your holiday.

I would definitely enjoy it too - just don’t want you to be unexpectedly chilly 🙂. Love Portugal.

Yes I think it will be sunbathing weather for a couple of days. I sunbathed in 21 degrees in Ibiza last month.

I don't think it will be consistently sunbathing weather for 7 days, but i don't think it is anywhere at this time of year.

My friend just came back from the canaries and said it was cloudy and windy for 4 days out of 7.

Thank you!

Ibiza in September is quite different to Portugal in November in terms of weather.
You should be able to sit outside comfortably in the peak of the day.
Make sure you take a couple of sweaters too though.
Cyprus and Málaga region stay warmer for longest in Europe. (As well as Canaries).

I was in Ibiza in October.

I wrote "last month" because my brain is thinking it is nearly November.

I am looking at videos of people in Albufeira this week on tiktok.

It looks lovely and sunny

I live in mallorca and it’s still lovely in the day though can be nippy at night. We were swimming in the sea last Saturday. I don’t normally need to get the fire going until January.

Minto111 · 30/10/2025 17:27

Honestly I don't care that much if Albufeira is a cold dump next week!

I was getting so stressed trying to pick a place. Im so indecisive.

I was like, just pick somewhere and go with it!. Now I have decided. It's done. I am going

Slightly further afield I went to Sharm el Sheikh one November and it was totally cloudless skies and around 30 degrees.
Though the sun went down at 5pm sharp. It’s good for sunbathing and snorkeling but not a lot else tbh. If you go there choose your hotel very carefully.

Lanzarote is a great option if you’re looking for short haul, I had great weather in December/January a couple of years ago.

When in November are you flying @Minto111? Albufeira will still be lovely and sunny even if not too warm, plus it won’t be heaving this time of year.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 31/10/2025 02:46

I was in Malta in November one year it was lovely. Not roasting hot just pleasant. Was still able to swim in the sea. Iirc there was a few drizzly days but not overly cold.

OhDear111 · 31/10/2025 17:47

Cape Town. No jet lag and loads to see and do.

Hippywannabe · 31/10/2025 17:57

In Lanzarote right now, 26 degrees and just had a glorious sea swim.

Soonenough · 31/10/2025 18:01

I went to Albuferia in June . It was quite cold. And the water was absolutely freezing . But it suited the group I was with.

I would go for southern Spain (or Canaries) or Morocco/Tunisia. We have been to everything but Morocco, but planning potential vacations there for December. If it interests you, we are finding good information here. Also for Tunisia, you could go to Djerba, it is still very nice for November (good info you can find here).

Hi I am the OP. Just to say that Albufeira was a great choice.

It has been really lovely and sunny here this week. And it is cheap too! Cheaper than Greece or Spain. I have got a lot more for my money. The hotel is nicer than anywhere I stayed in Spain

EyeLevelStick · 05/11/2025 15:39

That’s great news. My weather app suggests it’s a bit wet, but then it makes stuff up all the time.

Glad you like Portugal. I agree it’s good value, and always seems very friendly. Have you been along the coast near Benagil? It’s spectacularly beautiful either on foot or by boat.
