Emirates have upgraded my flight to Business from Premium Economy!

Just that! I am visiting my son in Dubai in January and have been upgraded. I am travelling on my own. Any tips on do's and don't in Business? I'm a bit nervous 😓 and a lovely surprise for my retirement ❤️

Are you a member of their loyalty program? I used to travel for work and shortly before flights they’d do offers for upgrades. It was oftenvv bc cheaper to buy points to get an upgrade too.

A surprising number of people in "business" class are not travelling on business. I've seen complaints from people who didn't expect to encounter children there.

It's basically like the difference between going to Costa for a coffee and a muffin, and going to a 5-star hotel for afternoon tea. Enjoy!

Hi, did they contact you to offer the upgrade and did you have to pay any extra at all ? We fly premium economy soon but am going to reach out and see if any upgrades are available.

@Freyja9 - I suspect this thread wasn’t actually true. I find it very hard to believe that an airline would offer upgrades so far in advance when they could realistically still sell the business class seat at full price. When they do offer upgrades in advance it is usually just a few days before and they send you a email and you can bid for them. But it’s still extra cost. Or it’s last minute at the airport at check in.
