If so, where are you going and have you been before?

Can you recommend anywhere?

Cant make my mind up.
Thanks!

Going to Morocco. Still warm in October and reasonably priced

Butthechildrentheylovethebooks · 30/08/2025 17:33

Have been to Cyprus in half term before and it was lovely.

beachsandseaicecream · 30/08/2025 17:35

We are going to Paris but previous October half terms we have been to Venice and Malta, both had fab weather.

Billybagpuss · 30/08/2025 17:35

Scotland, been many times will go many more. Will be packing good shoes and a big coat and a swimming costume

JustStopItNora · 30/08/2025 17:36

Previous October holidays have been to a cruise to Bruges and Paris. Paris was warm as i recall. The cruise was awful. And cold.

😂 meanwhile us in Scotland definitely try and get away Oct half term as it's way cheaper!

We have done Cyprus and Turkey in Oct both good this year doing southern France more of a risk but not doing a swimming/AI this time.

Our previous October half terms have been Paris, New York and Rome - all sensational weather!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 30/08/2025 17:42

We’ve been to Side in Turkey before at October half term. The weather was lovely - 26/27 degrees and the sea was nice and warm too.

Highly recommended!

Unfortunately finances don’t allow a hot holiday this year.

Going to Dubai.
In the past few years we have alternated between Dubai and Towyn in Wales 😂 I know which I would prefer but the kids are slightly disappointed we aren’t going back to Towyn!

Dubai is great though, warm weather and lots to do for both adults and children. We can’t wait to go back.

We’re going to Portugal (Algarve). Haven’t been before but have been in Spain at the end of October and the weather was great. I’ve also been to Crete in half term and had perfect weather (24/25 degrees, sunny and lovely, warm sea) and Turkey where the weather was mixed. It was warm in the sun but rained for a few days.

TheBirdintheCave · 30/08/2025 23:53

Florence and yes I’ve been before but the rest of my family haven’t. We’re also doing Pisa, Lucca and Siena :)

Pyjamatimenow · 30/08/2025 23:57

The lakes in a caravan. It’ll be wet and wild as per usual but I bloody hate going abroad with kids

MinnieMountain · 31/08/2025 05:17

Pompei and Rome one year. Munich another.

I’m taking DS for a weekend in Edinburgh this year.

laddersandsnakes12 · 31/08/2025 06:23

We are going to Naples and Rome for a week, our DS is v keen on eating lots of pasta, pizza and gelato while there and I have to say I feel the same!

Meadowfinch · 31/08/2025 06:45

I'm thinking of taking ds to Scotland. He missed out on a lot of travel due to covid, so we're playing catch-up. It depends whether he'll have time in A'level year.

If we go, it'll be the highlands. He likes walking/climbing

Have been to Cyprus in half term before and it was lovely.

Are the pools warm enough to swim in?

This is what I had in mind, maybe Yorkshire.
Abroad is way too expensive.

Looking at Haven for the pools and activities. I love autumn in the U.K.

We go to a caravan holiday in Kent. Cheap and cheerful with entertainment for the kids still

DappledThings · 31/08/2025 07:27

Malta. Been before in earlier October before we were bound by term time.

Baffles me why anyone said there's nothing to do there. We ran out of time to see all the museums and bits we wanted to in 8 days last time.

Twilightstarbright · 31/08/2025 07:56

Lanzarote! Third year running. Warm and a lovely break.

moppety · 31/08/2025 07:57

Holland.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 31/08/2025 08:10

We’re off to Amsterdam!

snowone · 31/08/2025 08:18

I’m hoping to. We went to Malta at Oct half term, it was lovely. 25/26 degrees most days. Looking at maybe Turkey / Canaries this year.

Freetodowhatiwant · 31/08/2025 08:32

Malaga, it's such a lovely time of year there. Temperatures around 25 degrees.
