What’s your most expensive single scoop ice cream with waffle cone so far this year?

Paid £3.80 recently Suffolk coast, touristy hot spot of course. May half term £3.00 Somerset. Nice quality but blimey…
Is this the average?

If paid £5 for a 99 flake from an ice cream van recently (actually £15 for 3 before I realised the cost 😭) - felt very scammy, at a fete so no competition and I’d already promised the kids.

£4 from a van in a park...£4.50 for one with a sherbert rim on the cone! Midlands.

£5.50 in a London park at an event from an ice cream van. Usual price, same park is £3.50. Absolutely jokers. Grrr. That was for a 99 with a flake, normal cone.

If it was H&J’s on the Suffolk coast then definitely worth it!

£7 but it was pistachio ice cream at a beautiful seafront cafe in Brighton. Expensive but it really was lovely.

£6 something in York but it was shaped like a rose 🤣

Actually refused the generous offer of a single scoop of admittedly lovely sounding ice cream for £7.50 at the local RHS garden last week .

£3.80 in my local park cafe - it didn’t even look that nice and was a very small scoop.

£5 for a single scoop from an ice cream shop in Windsor!

Refused £9 at an ice cream van outside the science museum in London a few weeks back - the lack of prices should’ve been a sign!

Actually paid, I think £5.50.

These prices are crazy and I refuse to pay it. I always go in Iceland/Heron or similar and buy a box of 4 ice creams and we have one each. Usually pay £2.-£2.50 for the box

And I thought the £4.00 for one scoop / £5.50 two scoops outside the savil garden building in Windsor Great Park would easily be the winner here.

I thought our local gelateria (Italy) was bad, going up to €2.20 per scoop.
Please say it was a sit-down ice cream sundae type dish…

One thing about living in Italy is that industrial ice creams like Walls are really cheap because they can only compete on price, not taste. So next time you’re in a city, stop at a supermarket and get a multipack ( I personally recommend Coop’s almond “magnums” ).

£6. Nice, but blimey. Cheapest, £3.00 for a Mr Whippy 99. Which was also nice.

I am ashamed to admit it was not! I was mortified! I really didn’t enjoy Amalfi. There was no authenticity there and it was just a money making tourist trap. Mission for next year is to find the authentic parts of Italy!

We loved Tuscany earlier this year, spent a week driving around it and enjoyed a 3.50€ double scoop from the “best gelateria in the world”.

This is promising!

I do this too. We always have an upside down lunch as eat the ice creams as soon as we arrive anywhere. I did pay four quid each but it was nice ice cream.
