Tell me about Seville

Always been attracted to Seville, Grenada, Cordoba, Jerez, Cadiz

From what I can see Seville seems to be the easiest to get to from an airport and I'd rather go from Gatwick if possible

London City would have been ideal (moreso than Gatwick) but they dont go to Seville. They go to Malaga but not direct in winter but then we would have to get from Malaga to one of those cities above

Has anyone done this?

Yes this is common to a lot of Spanish places, we tend to do most of our roaming at night and of course they dont settle down till the early hours which is what we like.

Agree just back from near Cádiz and you see far more multi generational big family groups than groups of adults. Very civilised.

Not in November it wont be. Just right.

We went in early Nov last year and it was quite rainy but still warm. The train from Malaga to Seville was about 2 hours. Seville feels much more traditional than Catalonia (where we usually visit). Many many tapas bars and not great for veggies as I found out😆😆

It's an interesting place but I wouldn't rush back.

We've been to lots of Spanish cities which are about the size of my local town, there are plenty of things to do that can fill a week, not sure why this keeps needing to be explained, I personally dont choose to do short trips (unless over Easter as we have in the past) and thats all I said, its not how I holiday and thats ok.

Rome, Segovia, Toledo, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Prague, Comillas, Bruges, Venice, Alghero, Florence, Palma, all week long holidays, all of them have tons more I could go back and see. Plenty to do that doesnt involve sitting in a cafe all day, that was a tongue in cheek example.

Edited

Then don’t post a thread asking ‘tell me about Seville’ then complain when people offer advice.

We do plan to go to Andalusia at Holy Week one year, not this year obviously, or even next. We're used to Madrid in Holy Week although I know its more fervent down south

Last year we did Andalusia by rail with InnTravel. 3 nights Seville, 2 nights Cordoba and 3 nights Granada. We had fabulous hotels.

Anyway, we didn't really think about the closeness to Easter when we booked but as it turned out we were there the week before Holy Week and our last night was Palm Sunday. We were in Granada and one of the parades went from a church just round the corner from our hotel. Very interesting and, although fairly crowded, not oppressively so. We had a really good view.
