Just interested to know what your favourite Greek island is and why?

We’ve done Rhodes (loved it) & we’re doing Zakynthos this year.

I'm not sure I've met a Greek island I didn't like.

It’s like picking your favourite child!

I like Naxos for the great mix of restaurants, beaches and general amenities

Syros is another favourite, beautiful architecture, spectacular old town/ano Syros. Great value, lovely beaches, albeit a little pebbly.

Skiathos and Skopelos for me.

So many are beautiful, but I have a soft spot for Crete.

Beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and gorges you can walk/trek, lots of history, friendly locals. I love how there’s so many different areas, each one has a different feel, so it’s great for exploring.

Skiathos is lovely

I love Crete. Even in the summer, it’s possible to find secluded bays and quiet villages and restaurants.

I've been to Kefalonia , Corfu and Kos - all nice but Corfu is my absolute favourite. A mumsnetter recommended Kalami bay when we were researching where in Corfu to go and we fell in love with the place. I've been 5 times now and would go back again and again. I just find the beauty of Kalami and the surrounding areas breathtaking.

Avoid Ios.

Went with a friend when we were younger. There 48 hours. Lost a phone, a whole night, at one point there was a trail of blood and a question mark over an orgy with an Air Arran pilot. In hindsight, was the time of our lives...

We also love Corfu. My partner says it feels like being home. We stay in the north east.
Have to say we didn't enjoy Cephalonia but think we chose the wrong resort and also food was the worst we've ever had on any Greek island. Oh sorry, Fiskardo was lovely and the one good meal.
Where we stay on corfu is like there.

I always think flights Greece are very expensive in school holidays. I've considered flights to Athens then mainland or ferry. It'd too expensive in May and too hot in summer and not hit enough at Easter. Any solutions?

Santorini.

I know Kalami well.
We usually stay in Kassiopi but have been looking at Kalami this year.

Love them all but I will always have a soft spot for Naxos with Symi as a close second

Santorini - controversial I know! But we went at Easter and it was quiet and I have never seen anywhere so beautiful. The candles in Pygos, good Friday are just breath taking. I can imagine though that in August it's hell.

I agree with a PP that Syros is great value and has some really beautiful spots. I also have a soft spot for tiny Nisyros. Oh and at the other end of the touristy scale, the view of the acropolis from Lindos beach, Rhodes is pretty special after all the day trippers have left.

Naxos. It felt less touristy and more authentic than a lot of the others I’ve visited.

Sifnos

But haven’t found one I didn’t like yet. Also love Naxos, Milos, Amorgos, Kefalonia, Kimolos, Paros and others.

Crete, I could happily live there.

I love Greece and I've been to a few of the more well known islands: Crete, Zante, Rhodes, Santorini and Skiathos. Skiathos stole me heart, it's so beautiful 😍
