South of Italy

Trying to plan a road trip south of Italy for about 9/10 days puglia region, wanting to know if anyone has done anything similar? Wanting to air b&b it and just drive and sight see nice wine and food!
Wanting to steer away from heavy tourist areas and go to hidden gems - thanks

We stayed in Monopoli last year (loved it) and did trips to Alberobello, Polignano and Ostuni, plus some lovely beaches. We went on the train though so a lot of places were off-limits without a car. Trani is much recommended and Otranto / Gallipolli.

Fly into Bari and out of Brindisi if possible, or vice versa. Add Castel del Monte to your list (where Eco’s ‘Name of the Rose’ was filmed). Hidden gem for me is Nardo; it’s utterly beautiful, especially at night. Oh, and my favourite swim spot, Porto Selvaggio. Long walk down, but worth it.
