I'd love to stay in a hotel or apartment with direct beach access, any ideas please?

Bonus if this is within walking distance of a village/town, rather than a resort hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Short flight rather than long haul.

Thank you for sharing your ideas.

TUI have a beachfront filter on their app. 👍

Hotel Louis ledra in pathos. Beach right there, and you can walk to the town along the path in front of the beach, or get a bus in.

I've found one in Ibiza - just thinking San Antonio will be too lively for me.

TUI have a beachfront filter on their app. 👍

Thanks, I've just tried this, but this isn't quite what I'm after.

Using the filter includes all beachfront, even if there is a main road between the hotel and the beach.
I've stayed at The Island in Gouves and that is certainly the case. Some of the others listed show the road.

I really want hotel grass to a beach….😀

This is also a great choice - right on beach in very lovely resort that not many Brits know about as only has 2 hotels

Capo boi in Sardinia. You just walk straight out onto the beach

Dom Jose Hotel, Quarteira, Algarve.

Hotel, pool, beach (yellow sand), small town, markets, Loule within a taxi ride. No road in front, just a promenade with people strolling. Good for a very lazy beach/ambling type holiday. Especially good if you've had a rough year and you just want to relax.

Enough for a week, probably not two.

These are sounding great, I will check them out and return for more!

Have a look at Tolon in the Peloponnese, lots of beachfront hotels there, plus many restaurants. It's not the most charming town but ticks those boxes perfectly!

Grupotel tamariscos in menorca. Right on a beach and pools overlook the sea, there's a marina entrance next to it and you can watch all the boats come and go all day (mega yachts park up overnight right outside the apartments, most of which are sea view)
2 minute walk to the small town with marina/restaurants/shops.

Josie234 · 15/07/2024 11:56

Some great ideas here, I'm loving the more unusual places, that I don't ever seem to find!

Valamar president hotel Dubrovnik. Right on the beach and there’s a lovely beach promenade into Lapad with lots of restaurants and other hotels.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 15/07/2024 15:03

Have a look at Alvor, Portugal. Pestana Hotels.

Maddy70 · 15/07/2024 15:36

Sitges (down from Barcelona) Terramar and sunway hotels (quiet end) . On beach with a beautiful walk into the town or plat d hour Sitges across the road from the beach in the center of town

AltitudeCheck · 15/07/2024 15:42

The Pestana Hotels and villas in Alvor might fit the bill, stunning beaches and a nice little town 15-20 mins walk away. Have to say though, I've only gone in April or October when it's much quieter and cooler temps

Acunningruse · 15/07/2024 15:42

H10 Estepona Palace has direct beach access and is very quiet

I think the Tivoli Marina in Vilamoura had beach access at the rear

Hotel Amare marbella has beach access across a path

Pery · 15/07/2024 16:14

Phoenix Beach Tsivili Zante. In front of the hotel is a pool then a bit of grass then sandy beach. It's probably a 3* but perfect location and in a nice resort with lots of restaurants.

Crikeyalmighty · 15/07/2024 17:02

@Maddy70 I really liked Sitges- often overlooked by couples and families because it's known as a 'gay' destination - but it's a great town especially for twinning with Barcelona

mitogoshi · 15/07/2024 17:07

Magic life fuerteventura has beach access but is on bus route to towns. Stayed at sirinus country club Ibiza, beach next door, walk to lots

BreadMachine · 15/07/2024 17:13

Insotel formentera playa hotel is right on a beautiful beach in formentera, and there are 2 other hotels in the same vicinity to choose from. TUI use all of them so they're easy to see on their website

laesosalt · 15/07/2024 17:14

Tivoli or Crowne Plaza in Vilamoura, Portugal

Maddy70 · 15/07/2024 17:19

Also many Morrocan hotels ate directly in the beach
